Nice Overall Experience, but feeling "Nickeled and Dimed"

Sail Date: October 26, 2015

Room Type: Balcony

We had a great experience overall with our first-ever Royal Caribbean cruise. We found the staff to be top-notch, we loved our cruise director, "Bing Bong" Mark, we enjoyed our balcony room, and the weather cooperated nicely!

However, the extensive amount of money one would have to spend to fully enjoy their cruise experience left us feeling "nickeled and dimed." For example, if we wanted to drink soft drinks throughout our cruise, it was $8/day per person. If we wanted to purchase a drink package including alcoholic beverages, those ranged from $42-$67 daily, per person. And we found the prices of shore excursions to be quite, quite high.

I would cruise again with Royal Caribbean, but I would go in knowing that drink packages and shore excursions can be quite expensive, and budget that out.

Cabin / Stateroom
Awesome cabin in a very convenient location!
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Great experience with zero hassle!
Ship Quality
Nice ship for its age, but looking forward to sailing on a newer ship.
Destinations and Excursions
Will look for something less tourist-trappy than Nassau next time.
Onboard Activities
Two words: Chubby bunny!
Not much we were interested in -- mostly geared toward older adults.
Service and Staff
Fabulous staff, all the way around!
Food and Dining
Bakery and desserts superb, but dinner entrees were a little off the mark.
