Enchantment of the Seas

5 Night Bermuda (Baltimore Roundtrip)

Sail date: August 06, 2011

Ship: Enchantment of the Seas

Cabin type: Suite

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Review summary

Be sure to arrive early, we arrived around noon and it was extremely crowded and hectic. The staff at the Port of Baltimore was awful. They herded us like cattle and we weren't told that people that booked suites got expedited check in. We stood in line for about 45 minutes before we were diverted to a suite-holders line which was much shorter.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
THe food was wonderful and Sharon our waitress was the best. We had dinner in CHops Restaurant the second night and it was well worth the $30 per person.Dinners at My Fair Lady were wonderful. Don't go to the Windjammer during peak hours, though. It was extremely crowded and seats were hard to come by,

Entertainment

3 out of 5
THere were a lot of options, but some of the things (like the 70's party) were loud and not everyone wants to participate. This party was held in the Centrum (center of the ship) and was very noisy until 1:30 am. We had the later dinner seating and weren't able to attend many of the shows and activities.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our stateroom attendant and waitress couldn't have been better.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
This is an older ship, needs some cosmetic upgrades and the ship rocked quite a bit more than the newer ships. It was kept extremely clean, though. The pool area was extremely crowded. It was difficult to find seats together. They need to have more seats to accomodate all guests or not book so many guests.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We had a Junior Suite and it was small for the four of us.

Ports of call

King's Wharf, Bermuda

Unfortunately, we had rain on both mornings (which cleared up in about an hour on both days). They cancelled the excursions on both days. It was pandomonium at the excursion desk...extremely crowded with dissapointed passengers. The lady at the desk was pleasant and helpful but I think they should have waited before cancelling since the weather did clear up on both days. Also, they need to announce the cancellations so everyone doesn't have to descend on the excursion desk at once. THey did make announcements but they were made well after the excursions would have left.

Pros: We liked the "At Sea" experience very much

Cons: Checking in at the Port of Baltimore was a zoo
