Enchanted Princess

11 Night Grand Western Mediterranean (Barcelona To Rome)

Sail date: November 12, 2023

Ship: Enchanted Princess

Cabin number: B618

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 11 months ago

Review summary

We started cruising again as soon as the Covid restrictions were lifted and it was fantastic because of the low volume of guests. This voyage was almost back to full capacity and it looked like Princess had benefited from the restart by learning to provide better service to their guests. We will definitely book with Princess again.

Embarkation

Fast and efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had a fantastic waiter in the MDR and requested him for the entire voyage. The MDR food was excellent. Tried The Catch by Rudy and have to say this is the best specialty offering I’ve experienced to date. However, Sabatini’s was moved to a high traffic pedestrian area and the food was mediocre.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We loved the Sanctuary!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Great show’s but the one standout was the Billy Joel show by Kyle Martin. He brought down the house and we left feeling like we just attended a concert we paid real money to see.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the crew were on top of their game.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It’s a pretty new ship and the layout was perfect.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect for us this standard balcony was located mid-aft and we really enjoyed it.

Ship tip

Book the Sanctuary as soon as you board the ship to secure your spot.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
We flew in pre-cruise and spent 2 days touring the city. It would have been better if we had more time. Saw the main attractions but would have taken in some museums if we had more time.

LA SEYNE-SUR-MER (TOULON), FRANCE

5 out of 5
We did a winery with lunch and we bought a bunch of wine!

Genoa, Italy

5 out of 5
We did an all day tour with winery and lunch and bought a bunch of wine!

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
It was another all day excursion but we loved seeing the leaning tower and several other sights.

Kotor, Montenegro Did not visit port

Weather kept us visiting the port.

Corfu, Greece

5 out of 5
Excellent port and excursion, we bought Kumquat liquor.

Messina, Sicily Did not visit port

We stayed onboard.

NAPLES (POMPEII), ITALY

5 out of 5
This may have been the best port. Loved Pompeii and Capri and Sorento.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
Spent 2 days post cruise and although we saw the Vatican, Colosseum and walked the old city it wasn’t enough time. 3-4 days minimum.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
No wait and luggage was waiting for us.

Thanks for the review. Yes I think Princess staff fared better through COVID than some other lines. Their waiters are typically veterans who have been with Princess for many years, even decades. Since COVID it seems other lines had a lot of new wait staff.
