Review summary

Would not want to do another cruise aboard this ship. We like outside, unobstructed views of the ocean and this ship does not have space like that.

Embarkation

Check in was fast and easy. Had to sit and wait in "lobby" after check in for about an hour before boarding.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Food was bland and not served at correct temperature in buffet or in dining room. Same food in the buffet every single day for the 10 day sailing. No traditional set dining times in main dining room. It was all pick whatever time you want to stand in line. What a mess! I want set times at the same table with the same wait staff each night. That's why I sail Princess. Staff that was already stretched thin due to covid employees not working shifts looked extremely frazzled. Service everywhere was terrible.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
No outside promenade deck walk-around on this ship. Only place to walk around the ship outside was the jogging deck around the very "sooty" smokestack. No sail away "parties" outside and no events were held inside the atrium.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
No production shows because cast members had covid. Most musicians(except the house band and the jazz trio) had computerized track accompaniment. Terrible music selection from the 70s, 80s and 90s. I'm in the caribbean--play caribbean music not Stand by Me for the 50th time.

Service and Staff

Waitstaff was rude and not friendly. They seemed like they hated their jobs. Buffet was not self serve and the workers behind the buffet seemed put out that I wanted to get food.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
We were on a ship but felt so far from the water? Very strange feeling. This ship has no area on lower deck like the promenade where you can stroll around and hear the waves. The areas looked permanently closed off to passengers with locked gates and signs stating employees only

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Super tiny inside cabin. The door to the bathroom is very close to your knees when sitting on the toilet. Only serviced once a day at a time convenient for the room steward. No fun extras like towel animals or night turn down service. Really miss that luxury feeling. This sailing felt like a budget cruise which it definitely was not.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Easy to get to from FLL airport.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

Food and bar service was scarce probably due to employee shortage. Enjoyed the beach but didn't want to stand in a very long line for the one food line that was open for 1.5 hours.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Booked excursion thru Princess, Two Island Snorkel & Beach Getaway By FastCat. Nice day snorkeling among turtles at Buck Island. Then they dropped us at Honeymoon Beach where we could have free rum punch and hang out on the beach.

Roseau, Dominica

4 out of 5
Booked excursion thru Princess, River Tubing & Rainforest Scenic Drive. Rough drive to the other side of the island. Along the way we stopped at a nice waterfall. Water level was very low and a few people popped their tubes on the way down the river.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Booked excursion thru Princess, Mount Gay And Foursquare Rum Tour & Tasting. Way too big of a group. At the first stop, Mount Gay they wanted us to stuff inside an enclosed space before the tour. No social distancing so I bailed. The Foursquare tour was outside so I felt more comfortable at that one.

Castries, St. Lucia

Booked excursion thru Princess, The Pitons, Marigot Bay, Coastal Cruise & Beach. Great day with great hosts. After the snorkel/beach stop we enjoyed many a rum punch with views of the pitons. The caribbean music played all day which was so enjoyable.

St. John's, Antigua

3 out of 5
Booked excursion thru Princess, Scenic Coastal Cruise, Snorkel, Beach & Lunch. Went around the entire island of Antigua on this excursion. Stopped at Green Island for lunch and snorkel. Ruined experience with guides baiting the fish at beach/snorkel stop. Had to go as huge group of 50 to snorkel instead of on your own despite having 2.5 hours at stop. Entire day played the best USA pop hits of 70s, 80s, and 90s. Ugh I want caribbean music in the caribbean not old pop hits like Neil Diamond and Cyndi Lauper.

Disembarkation

Easy Peasy
