Review summary

This is the first time ever we said we did not have a good vacation. Ever. We never complain and we always say that if you complain on a cruise ship then there is really something wrong with you. But, overall we felt that the ship was sub-par and Royal did it self an injustice by putting this ship out. We felt that the crew in the bars and service area were all in training...several people said, I think they are all in training. Horrible Experience, Sorry Royal.

Embarkation

A bit confusing. We were told to wait and take a seat as they were getting ready to board, meanwhile they were boarding. Very unorganized

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Horrible Horrible Horrible. We knew prior to getting on that the ship was old, but except in Chops the service and the food was horrible, no other words to put it. We felt like the tables were for small people.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The 70's show was excellent and the evening shows were good. The weather unfortunately was cold so sitting out side was difficult and through out the ship there was a septic order....and it was all over. On the guest service lounge you could tell they were pumping out air freshener. Royal should have never put this ship out to sea.

Entertainment

3 out of 5

Children's Programs

No children with us.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our cabin steward was excellent. All the folks in Chops were excellent and the woman heading the dining areas was excellent

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
A standard Royal Caribbean layout. The main areas were upgraded. The furniture in the dinning room were small tables and mis-matched chairs. Overall the ship was updated in a half-ass way.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
The rooms were old and our carpet was filthy. Not the cabin stewards fault. When upgrading this ship they put in new beds and headboard, but the "dressing area's" and the draws were never updated. We were charged for a Jr. Suite, which most ships it would have been a regular cabin. Can't stress enough how disappointed we were in Royal.

Ship tip

Go in with the mindset that it is an old ship and you are going to have to make the most of it. If this is your first cruise do not think they all are the same.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

We got on in Miami, we did our own tour the day before, which we enjoyed.

Key West, Florida

We did the train tour. Mike our guide was excellent.

Nassau, Bahamas

Did not get off the ship. We have been there before and the time span was short.

HAVANA, CUBA

2 out of 5
I think the tour was okay and only okay. Spent a lot of time in a cemetery. Drove around and got a feel of the island; say the statue. Went to the fort and shopping. Glad I saw it and the old cars and do not feel that this will be a future stop.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Horrible, we had a blind person with us and did not realize that we needed to order a wheel chair; so that became an issue. Unorganized.
