Review summary

The medical staff was rude my mom fell the first night of the cruise and split her lip open. Never was any price/rates discussed before she received stitches the only thing signed was the incident report and personal history. It was dark when we were taken inside clinic so no signs were seen. We purchased the insurance through princess. When we were finished nothing else was signed we were told to come back the next morning so they could check the stitches and was told to sign the electronic pad to check in. Then she got a bill for $712.00 on her door the next day if we would have known we would have had to pay that out of pocket she never would have had treatment. Then we spent the duration of cruise trying to straighten the issue out and kept getting the runaround . I ended up having to give her the money so she could get off the ship the whole experience was horrible and defined our whole cruise. If someone from princess would call me Regina 229-412-4236

The doctor is an independent contractor. I guess he can charge whatever he wants! It is crazy!

Streep    7 years ago

I don't know how they can justify charging so much.!!

I had insurance, but it cost me $1250 to have 7 stitches put in my head while visiting Hawaii in emergency room. Fortunately, I didn’t know how much it cost until I got home, so it didn’t affect my attitude for the rest of thetrip

thanks olldbob, you are right. We can let them put fear into us or just don't let them win. Happy cruising.

That sucks

When I read over another lines insurance, it did state we had to pay upfront and file to be reimbursed, like Streep said.

dont put your life on hold because of a few idiots remember you might get injured on the highway but it dont stop you driving. dont let the b@st@@ds win

Lol. no, just that there is so much going on up that way i think New Zealand would be better. Thinking Japan but not now.

olldbob    7 years ago

why ? were you thinking of going there

Streep    7 years ago

Not thinking of planning next cruise until North Korea gets it's act together.

I agree with banaford.

Yes a shock..We were told that you pay for medical treatment and then claim from insudance when you arrive home. $700 a bit rich for sutures..It pays to have a certain amount of available funds for these inexpected things.

olldbob    7 years ago

so you never had insurance and you would have left it unstiched if you knew the cost really !!!

Hate to tell you, that's how it works on all ships. Also, princess is not connected to this app. I suggest you delete your #. Princess will never see this post.
