Review summary

Family cruise to Alaska. We had fun at all ports except Victoria due to the late arrival. The dining was disappointing, especially the evening we ate at Share (don't waste your money). I had a big issue with the amount of up selling that was done, especially during the first two days: Drink packages, Three upcharge dining options, Duty free shops, wine tastings. During dinner one evening I had to fend off a gentleman selling a $25 wine tasting the next evening (twice during the same dinner).

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We arrived early (11 AM) and were on the ship in less than an hour.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Somewhat disappointed: Cafeteria was just so so. Main Dining room was good, however, the anytime dining option was not so much fun. there was a wait for dinner every evening. We found out that we could make a reservation and that helped tremendously (make your reservation as soon after 8 AM the day you want it to get the time you want). Share by Curtis Stone - AWFUL - Don't waste your money! Gastro Pub - Very good

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Too cold for the pool most days. Small events were scheduled during the day, however, many of them were opportunities for the ships staff to promote items for sale on the ship.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Really liked the comedian one night. There was a singer that did imitations that was very good. The big production however, was pretty pathetic. Overall the entertainment was mediocre.

Children's Programs

We dont have small children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Overall the staff is very good. Our cabin steward was awesome!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ships cleanliness is primary reason for four stars. The layout could improve the three level plaza area is somewhat small, especially for an Alaska cruise where the weather is not always conducive for being on deck. It got very crowded. If this was a Caribbean cruise, the layout would likely be more conducive.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was not large but was very adequate. The bed is very comfortable, however it is shorter than a standard mattress which was a small issue for me (6'2"). Our balcony had a partial obstruction, which did not cause us any issue at all.

Ship tip

If you want to attend an entertainment event, get there early. Seats are at a premium at most events.

This was a ridiculous stop! The boat docked at 7 PM. All the friggin shops are closed! If you want to enjoy this port, schedule an excursion or have reservations at a nice restaurant. Otherwise it was a waste of time.

what if you physically can't even drink alcohol? you get bothered over and over? That's rude.
