Emerald Princess

Sail date: February 24, 2017

Ship: Emerald Princess

Cabin type: Inside

Traveled as: Large Group

Review summary

favorite - scenery of New Zealand and Australia

Improvement needed

- tender coordination - insufficient number to handle all of the passengers

- wider variety of food (more Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian cuisine)

- lack of things to do on the ship, particularly on sea days

- need to run 3 shows each night instead of only 2.  Often we could not fine seats in the theatre

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Limited food options

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Lacking in scope and options. More talks and discussion, how-to, cooking demonstrations, ship galley and below deck tours

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Limited range and options. Evening shows are popular but insufficient seating in theatre

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Some of the wait staff did not perform very well. They lack desire to help.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Room size was tight but manageable.

Ship tip

Anytime dining program needs revamp. We tried to book a dinner table but were told they were all taken. It seems some people are able to access tables ahead of others.

We got to the theatre around 20-30mins before a show and never had a problem finding a seat.

Like any cruise company they can only put on 2 shows a night because of the strain on the production team, as for not getting a seat get there earlier having done 17 cruises we have learned this. We love sea day's as this gives us time to relax, and we do our own thing, have never known Princess not to put anything on seadays
