Review summary

There are 3 key ports in this cruise that one aspire and look forward to visit. They are Port Chalmers, Akaroa and Tauranga. We have to skip 2 out of these 3 ports due to heavy fog. Other than Tauranga, nothing else is worth visiting. Worse of all, having to skip Port Chalmers and Akaroa resulted in us having to cruise from 15Feb evening to 20Feb with limited entertainment. The entire cruise was a disaster and investment for cruise is as good as pouring our money into the seas.

After this episode, I am putting my plan for the 104 days world on hold.

Ship tip

It would be unfair for me to pass a general statement that cruising on board Emerald Princess is a disaster but it is for our trip.

We sailed the Emerald in 2015 in the Med. and it was wonderful. Have seen some bad reviews since she went down under.  Wonder why?

The entire cruise a disaster? Hmmm, no food? Bad cabin? Couldn't relax? Interesting. I'm sure you were disappointed in missing the ports, but as for me, I love the relaxation of at sea days. If a cruise can be a disaster, maybe consider flying to those destinations since the trip along the way is a struggle for you...

I've noticed that all of your other cruise reviews have been quite poor. Perhaps if you lowered your standards a little and got down from your high horse you might actually enjoy one!!!

Unless one has access to " the above " , weather often determines the outcome of a cruise!
