Review summary

Our 7th Princess cruise, but this time on a 3100 passenger behemoth. I found getting on and off too much akin to a 'cattle call'.  The ship and crew were wonderfully well organized and orderly, the Captain informative and very considerate of his passengers and Naval common sense safety, I found him to behave quite like a US Naval officer does.

The excursions were too crowded and though they were needed,  not all provided electronic hearing devices to the group making the guides explanations even difficult to follow than the normal accented English.

Food was good though not exceptional.  Casino hostess very helpful.  Room steward was exceptional.

I find I prefer the smaller vessels in the Princess fleet.

We were on the Emerald Princess for a 16 day Transatlantic cruise in 2012. The captain was amazing. Not only would he do his daily announcements, etc. but also was out on deck talking to the passengers, asking how they were doing. I appreciated that. The cruise directors loved their jobs and that translated to everyone having a great time. With the many days at sea, I was never bored. First day was busy in the dining room but then it seemed to even out. I have done 9 cruises and this one was the best.
