Review summary

The Emerald Princess started sailing in '07. It's beautiful, and so much of it is similar to the other Princess ships....you feel like you've been on it before We like Princess because among other things, you can eat in the dining room any time (which we prefer) or can do the triaditional 1st or 2nd seating. They made extra efforts to have hand disinfectant everywhere in order to prevent the outbreaks that occur on ships

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
If you like seafood, the first night go to the buffet rather than the dining room. King crab lets, lobster claws and gigantic shrimp are on the menu...that's all we ate..no salad, no taters, no veggies

Entertainment

plenty to do....great exercise room...I never had to wait for a treadmill shows, comedians, etc. were really good

We had a balcony stateroom. Plenty of room, loved having a continental breakfast on the balcony every am

Ports of call

Roseau, Dominica

same comments as for Grenada

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

We had been there before...so took a walking tour of the city. This is the place to buy your booze and cigarettes...much cheaper than buying them on the ship. My Drambuie was 1/3 the cost at home and $8/bottle cheaper than on the ship
Don't Miss: The old church and old synagouge....VERY interesting

St. George's, Grenada

Did the Island tour. I would NEVER rent a car here or on Dominica. Not only to they drive on the left (I've done it before...it takes some getting used to) but the roads are narrow, STEEP, with many sharp turns alongside steep dropoffs. Our guide was excelllent

Bonaire, Netherlands Special Municipality

we did the island tour...interesting...especially the salt flats

Oranjestad, Aruba

we had spent a week in Aruba a few years back, so just went on a glass bottom boat (it was so so) and then hit the onshore casinos...

Pros: The crew was fantastic...friendly, warm, with great service

Cons: slot machines in the casino too tight
