We were told by everyone that Disney cruise was the best. They have never bee on another cruise. For our money, we got equal service on Holland America with better food and less Disney. Would be great for people with children. Good experience but won't repeat it.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
A little confusing for first time cruiser, would have been nice to board earlier than we did.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food was bland, which might appeal more to children. Liked the rotation of dining rooms and staying with the same staff, who were awesome.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Geared mostly towards families as expected on a Disney ship. Would have enjoyed more adult offerings.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
For the most part, entertainment was good. Some shows were just "meh" which I expected more from Disney.
Children's Programs
No children traveled with us.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Great wait staff in restaurants. Room steward was as expected. Everyone friendly and helpful.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
5 stars for cleanliness. The design of the ship was strange and did not make the most of the available space. For example, the forward part of the ship should be the place for people to relax and enjoy looking at the space. Instead, that space is given up to the spa, which is totally indoors.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Clean room. Very small and cramped. Ample space for luggage storage and to put away clothes. Liked the split bathrooms, which could be great for families. But for a couple the space could have been used better.
Ship tip
Unless you have children or are a Disney fanatic, choose another cruise ship.
Excursion was around the Arch. Boat was mostly windowed and could not see out of the windows. Skipped the second part of the excursion, which was to a glass-blowing factory. Others we talked to said it was mostly a shopping expedition.
Excursion into the city would have been great except the street vendors are so aggressive and in-your-face. Could not enjoy the cultural aspects of this tour.
Disney does have good size room, try out some other ships and you will see you can't store you luggage under the beds and no split bathrooms. All of the cabins on any cruise ship average 190-250sqft unless you get a suite or something different.
