First cruise maybe set the bar a little too high for our future cruises! If you’re a Disney family, this is an experience you’ll never regret (or forget). Not only are you well taken care of, you’re surrounded by Disney past and present. Movie theater, fireworks, Disney characters, and so much more. Now who do I talk to about them having a DTV channel?!
Embarkation

They have a nice air conditioned waiting area before checking in and check in was really easy. They announced each party entering the ship which was a really fun thing for the kiddos.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
I cannot say a single bad thing about the food. Whether we ate at the buffet or at a sit down, we had excellent food. The staff will bend over backwards to accommodate your requests and are pros when it comes to helping in a child meltdown moment. Clean, well stocked buffets. The main dining rooms all have neat little hidden things to look for and the last night is truly something special.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
I did visit the fitness center, lots of room and machines - can’t beat the view! All pools were great and the splash pad for really little kids was a huge hit. Waterslides and hot tubs and movies playing on a big screen kept us very happy. There is an adults only area (free entry) which was very appreciated. Trivia, game nights, and simply exploring the ship filled our time without becoming too busy. There’s also a game center with basketball and foosball.
Entertainment

The stage shows were great - even for little kids. Tangled the Musical was really fun and follows the movie pretty well. You can find Disney characters roaming the ship for photos and they also set times for characters to be in the atrium. We saw Captain Jack Sparrow, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, as well as many others. There is a princess tea party available for a fee.
Children's Programs

There is a drop off “day care” for really littles for an extra cost. The kids clubs are well planned and amply staffed. The tweens in our group enjoyed the freedom of having a place they could go to get away and hang.
Vibe

This was a fantastic place for our older kids to hand. Scavenger hunts, game tournaments, and just an adult free (kinda) place for them to get away from us, the people who finance their lives!
Edge Tween Club

We had a few kids spend a good deal of time here. Movies, games, group activities and more were always supervised by staff and we did not feel in any way that our children would not be looked after and taken care of.
Service and Staff

Ohmygosh. Cannot speak highly enough of the staff that we met on our cruise. Let me tell you - they work HARD for you. I think if I would have requested an actual ray of sunshine for breakfast, they would have found a way to get it done. Staterooms were immaculate. Out waiters followed us from dining room to dining room and knew how to keep us happy.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Yep, kids are messy. Heck, lots of adults are too. But for the amount of people you have to imagine are on a ship at any given time, the ship was c l e a n. Nary a smudge or a wrapper could be found anywhere. Easy to get everywhere - by the end of day 1 you could tell where you were pretty easily.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our room was perfectly sized. Two adults and a tween. Queen size bed with a drop down twin in the sitting area. Separate bathrooms with the toilet and sink in one and the tub/shower and sink in the other. Plenty of storage space and a small fridge. TV with Disney movies available for free. Nice artwork on the walls with a comfy couch for lounging (we did not spend much time in the room though). They do offer wave phones that work to communicate with other party members while aboard the ship in your room. We had a porthole room and the porthole was nice and big and clean.
Ship tip
Sign up for the 5K early the day you board. You can bring a 6-pack of beer or two bottles of wine per person over 21 in your room. You can also resupply those items at each port. Have fun with theme nights!
First class as expected. We ran (walked) the 5k and got a medal. Lots of people but also lots of room. You don’t use money here - like on the ship, you use your key card and it’s charged to the room. They do have a lunch buffet which had something for everyone. There’s a little post office you can mail postcards home from which I though was super cute and a great idea. A small waterslide park is where we made our home. There is a small shop for necessities and also a secluded adults only area. If you want to reserve a cabana, do so as soon as you are able on the website before you set sail - they go fast. Clean, friendly staff, and a one ship port makes this fun for everyone!
We went to a hotel to use their beach which would have been excellent but there was construction next door that severely limited the view. Weather was nice, beach was beachy, and I got stung by a jelly. Not too bad. We never once were approached by people looking to hook us up with island herb (or anything else). You do go through a small tourist trap market upon getting off the ship but we were not hassled in any way plus they had some stuff like hair braiding that some people might enjoy.
Loved it. We rented bikes and cruised the island. It is very easy to see a good deal of the island during your time here. There are several places to rent bikes - we got a kids bike, a man’s bike, and an adult trike for the day for $30 usd.
Could not have gone smoother. Up early to have a bite to eat from the buffet, listening for your group to be called to exit the ship. We had our luggage sent to the airport from the ship so we didn’t have to deal with it at all until we picked it up after we flew home. Easy peasy!
