This trip was a 40th Birthday gift to my beautiful wife and our first vacation without our daughter (ever!). We were a little hesitant about whether we would be able to relax or not but after the first night we were in full vacation mode. In fact, we wish we would have been able to do a full 7 nighter! At any rate, we were plenty busy when the ship was at port and we spent a lot of time with our new table friends. I highly recommend the 4 night Disney cruises to anyone new to cruising or pinched for time.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We were able to get a low embarkation number and were on the ship quickly. The safety drill went smoothly and the embarkation party was fun although a bit cramped.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food choices are very similar to the Magic's sister ship the Wonder, albeit with different theming between the two. We enjoyed the new Tangled restaurant even though it was a little loud. We were fortunate to have really awesome dinner guests and we had a blast.
We had great wait staff and recognized a waiter from Palo that served us at Remy on the Dream 6 years prior!!!
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Since we were at port every day of the cruise, we didn't make use of the pool or water slide as usual but we spent a lot of time sunning and drinking on the deck on the evening. As usual, everything was clean and well maintained.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Shows were top notch and the adult shows were fun and engaging.
Children's Programs
We left our daughter at home this trip! However, normally she would live in the kid's club.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Top notch as always. Our room was pristine and we were well taken care of.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I love the Fincantieri designed ships but each dry dock seems to remove a little more of the original Italian design details. Still, the classic lines make it one of the most beautiful ships at port. Makes me proud to be heading back to a Disney ship even when they are dwarfed by the larger ships like the Epic, etc.
Cabin / Stateroom

A little more forward than we are used to but this was a bit of a spur of the moment decision. The room was plenty enough space for the 2 of us and was clean and in good order.
Ship tip
Get room service at least one day at sea. It's a great way to start a day of relaxing. When we go out to breakfast, we tend to skip the buffet and go for either Daisy's Delites or at a sit down breakfast.
We enjoyed the immediate port area but due to the weather we didn't get to go to South Beach or do much shopping. Still the mall near the port hotels was nice and had plenty of good food and drink options. Wish we had more time but maybe next time.
Walked around Key West and saw a TON. It is such a beautiful town that we'd love to spend a full week there. The architecture, colors, foods, and drinks are all amazing as is the history. We liked Hemingway's house and the Little White House tours. Cuban coffee and frozen key lime pie were delicious!
Plenty of things to do and see in Nassau. When we visited in 2013, we only did shopping and ate downtown. Based on that visit I would have only given Nassau 3 stars. However, this trip we ventured out and did the Junkanoo museum, forts, Queen's stair, and then after the excursion walked to Watling's Distillery. We saw a lot of stray dogs that we steered clear of but otherwise didn't have any issues as far as safety is concerned.
We did an express walk off and had no issues. We ate asap in Animators Palate and then just scanned off the ship as soon as we were allowed. We had to Uber to FLL so we were in a hurry to get going. As of note, when we have our daughter with us we usually don't do express walk off. This can be a bit stressful as the entire ship seems crammed into the 3rd and 4th floors. It's a bit claustrophobic so I'd recommend Express walk off if you can!
