Review summary

Overall, I enjoyed my cruise and satisfied. Despite some issues I enjoyed myself and made the most of the trip. I didn't have any bad experiences that made me hate my trip. I dealt with matters in the most positive way I could. I enjoy cruising and will cruise again whether with Princess cruises or others.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The whole process for embarkation ran smoothly and was quick.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Overall the food was delicious there was nothing extraordinary about the meals. I found the buffet to be limited on options at times.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The trivia, zumba classes and movies on deck were good.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The broadway shows were a different option. The DJ played music that was not so up to date. Some of the piano players were average singers.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff were so gracious and attentive. It did not matter where you went the staff was always smiling and helpful. Our room steward was excellent and made sure to answer any questions for us. The gentlemen and women in the dining rooms were so energetic and made it a point to acknowledge you. We developed great rapport with many of them.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was nice but not grand. The overall areas of the ships were clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I have cruised on other ships and felt the balcony was larger than on Princess cruises. We did want a mini-suite but were sold out. The room was clean and layout was good. It was a bit smaller but functional. I prefer to be more in the midship area, found myself down at end of hall. The only perk was stepping out to my deck and being able to see the captain's staff on their deck and waving.

Ship tip

I would recommend if taking a long cruise may every attempt to get a bigger room. It makes the difference especially if the seas are not so smooth.

Ports of call

Singapore

5 out of 5
I embarked in Singapore so I explored some of the city prior to embarkation. I did not do any excursions before or after.

Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

4 out of 5
This port was ok but not sure if other excursions available besides the mall. We did venture to the market for souvenirs but wanted more of an experience than mall.

Nha Trang, Vietnam

5 out of 5
I really enjoyed this port. We did an excursion that took us to the white buddha. The host was very informative and pleasant. We got to experience the city, culture and souvenirs.

Phu My (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam

2 out of 5
It was a long bus ride to a grocery store. If you wanted to do anything you had to drive a further distance and not worth the risk of being late especially for short amount of time in port.

Laem Chabang (Bangkok), Thailand

5 out of 5
We did enjoy time here. Our excursion was semi good. We went to Pattaya elephant village. I felt we were rushed and not able to experience the beauty of these creatures longer. The tour took us to a gem store, which is something I would not be visiting on vacation.

Ko Samui, Thailand Did not visit port

I had been looking forward to visiting this area and had planned for an excursion with elephants and monkeys. For whatever reason we were not informed of the change we went to Cambodia. This was unplanned and clearly by the delay in getting cruisers to the main area it was obvious this port was not ready. We stood in the heat for over hour waiting on buses and no explanations. This is where we witnessed your staff yelling at the cruise staff who were in line to get out of line due to delays. I found this outrageous since they had been in line just as long as we had been there. For the Diamond princess crew to be treated like second class citizens was appalling. Once we did get a bus into the area where we were to stop it was not worth the time wasted. I literally saw all the dirt, trash and filthy area and returned to the ship. This was a waste of one of my ports to visit. Cambodia was super dirty and the amount of trash in the ocean was disgusting.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The process for disembarkation was quick and precise. I had no difficulty or issues. This was a painless process.
