Wonderful way to spend the holidays! by lyndanto

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: South America

this cruise has a little bit of everything--

1. Incredible scenery including seeing into the crater of an active volcano (Nicaragua), five glaciers in the Beagle Channel of Magellan Straits, and wonderful birds, penguins and seals;

2. Places of historical and cultural interest (my favorites were Pablo Neruda's home in Isla Negra, the historic marketplace in Buenos Aires, and the monuments in Rio);

3. Every type of terrain and weather, from the steamy tropical jungles of Costa Rica and Nicaragua, the soaring Andes, the high desert, glaciers & cold winds of Southern Chile, Uruguay and the Falklands, and the natural beauty of the jagged hills surrounding the city and bay of Rio;

4. Beautiful holiday decorations on board and wonderful cuisine that reflected the diverse countries we visited and "comfort food" for every type of nationality and age group.

This was our first cruise with Princess and our longest cruise to date. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and appreciated all the tips from Julio on what to see and do at the port stops.

Time to relax by vilasi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

We love the sea days and this cruse had just enough between the ports. The ship was full but not crowded food was great and as always vines had a knowledgeable staff that made trying new wines an experience.

Just a Getaway! by russ810

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: North America

Did the 4 day before this cruise to make it a 7 day Getaway! This was a planned back to back just for the cruise numbers for next step with Princess Elite. We had been to Ensenada before, so didn't need to get off of the ship. So the cruise fit the purpose. Dinning was great, as usual and entertainment was enjoyable.

5 Day Quickie by mschoeman12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

I enjoyed the Crown Princess 5 Day Cruise to Cabo, the theme of the Love Boat was cute and had me thinking of that long ago show.   The crew was wonderful and the dining was great.    I do like the freestyle dining much better than the scheduled one, as your not always hungry at 5pm.

Los Cabos by polykarlo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

Have more options for purchasing alcohol. maybe all you can drink package for specific days intending of having to buy a package for the whole trip.

The magic shows were pretty good.

Inside pool or heated pool would be nice for winter time.

Crown princess by rhoff

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: South Pacific

We enjoyed the sea days on this cruise more than anything. it had been 25 years since visiting Hawaii and all I can say is it has really become crowded. The Samoan and French Polynesian islands are remote and have little to occupy your time unless you enjoy water activities. The Crown princess is showing her age, but more disconcerting to us was the lack of amenities we had on board the Royal princess. The Mini Suite has no divider between the two rooms so it might as well have been one large room. The tvs carried the same endless loops of the food channel and  HGTV, We did get a couple live news channels, but no sports in the rooms. No on line account review or On Demand Service in the rooms either. Since it was a longer cruise the ave age was low to mid 80's which was OK just not a lot of late night activity. Casino usually closed all tables before mid night. Food was what I call institutional. the specialty restaurants were good and the Chef's table was elegant. In all I would say it was not worth what we paid.

Top Cruise by ccassidy

Best part of cruise was drink and food. I would refer to others. There was always something to see and do. Not all servers were friendly but most were great.

food needs to be hotter. by mamavicki8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

The food was plentiful and had great flavor except when I would take something that I expected to be hot it was barely warm.  I missed having hot food.

Just So So by rmauriello

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Hawaii

Though the overall service was very good, we thought the Crown Princess was just so so.  The stateroom, even with the balcony, and bathroom, were very small compared to other cruise ships we've used at the same cost level.  We were very glad we purchased the "beverage package" so we didn't need to pay extra for ice cream, good coffee, bottled water, wine, and liquor.  However, paying extra for laundry room machines and detergent as well as specialty restaurants was an unpleasant surprise.  Also, the activities on the ship were mundane and repetitive.  We were only able to see one show during our chosen time because the theater was too small to accommodate all passengers.

Recent Cruise by hvkrod

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

While this wasn't our favorite ship for a 10 day cruise, there was nothing seriously wrong.  We always enjoy sitting on the Promenade deck on lounges,  but there were none on this ship.  The chairs were not particularly comfortable for relaxing and there were not many of them.  The food on the buffets was almost always the same and seemed a little "stale".  We always look forward to the chilled soups at dinner and this time what was listed as soup was served in a glass with a straw!  Not our idea of soup.  The dining room was exceptionally noisy also. We enjoy the shows in the main theater, but as always, it was so LOUD we had to use earplugs.  Can't the sound level be lowered??

Wrong Cabin Given to me by by kleinlv

Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

Crown is very nice ship, food very good, service very good, entertainment very poor. Living in Las Vegas for 20 years I know entertainment! The ports of call were very good stops, the coffee served in the main dinning roon aboard the ship should be changed its garbage!

Bad trip by hunt3224

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Cruise and food was boring, of all the cruise I have been on this was the worst. Same food everyday in the buffet, most of the hot came out cold, dinning room food was below par

Princess cruise again? by whampton

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

Interesting ports, dining room food and service was very good.   The unsatisfactory side;

Bathrooms/showers extremely small, observing the general size  of their passengers cruising, why would Princess not consider this when designing the showers.

Always up selling...up selling...every seminar, cooking demos..

Buffet was to repetitious daily, also the buffet traffic flow was terrible.

We loved this cruise by cherhamilton

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

We had always wanted to visit the sea of cortez and this cruise fit our agenda perfectly. There were a few hiccups (tendering in Cabo was a mess) but overall still a 5 star cruise and cruiseline. The sunsets were spectacular, ports were interesting - especially Loreto, and our mini suite

cabin was fantastic. This was our first Princess Cruise and they did not disappoint.

Mexican Riviera Cruise by sbward1955

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

The service received from all staff and their attitude was great. Other than the dispute we have with the obstructed view from our stateroom the only negative issues we experienced were waiting on hour to board a tender going ashore to Cabo and waiting an hour in the lounge to disembark back in LA. Was my first cruise and would go back again being more careful about room selection.

NICE ITINERARY---SOME SHIPBOARD LIMITATIONS by pamelabis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

Favorite part of the cruise was the itinerary.  Have sailed on much nicer ships.  Direct staff (housekeeping and dinner staff) were great, but beverage service elsewhere on the ship was extremely scarce.  Buffet design was very poor and required very long waits in line at major mealtimes; buffet food was very repetitive and mediocre.  Dining room experiences were generally very nice.  Public restrooms were often unkempt and not up to standards of my previous cruises.  One excursion (itinerary of Snorkeling with Sea Lions in La Paz was not really as advertised and did not meet expections (millions of microscopic stinging jelly fish anyone?) I am a senior and would not recommend this cruise to the younger, partying crowd.  Some bar venues often closed early or didn't open at all, and beverage service was almost non-existent (and I'm not even much of a drinker!)  This cruise might be a good option for the first-time cruiser, but experienced cruisers could find it below the standards of other experiences.  I did.

Alaskan Inside Passage Cruise by emftl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The Crown Princess was super clean, top to bottom.  Food was great, good selections, Loved the happy hour in the Wheelhouse bar.

Really only criticism would be that our time in Ketchekan was to short.  We arrived   around 9 and had to be on board by 12:30. Then was at sea the next day until we arrived in Victoria the next night at7pm and had to be back by 9:30.  Would much rather have arrived much earlier in the day to get to spend real quality time there.  Way to short at both ports.
