Crown Princess

16 Night Western Europe Passage (London To Ft. Lauderdale)

Sail date: September 22, 2019

Ship: Crown Princess

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Review summary

Ship does not handle rough weather so if you are prone to sea sickness this is not the ship for you. If we had. It missed ports we might have felt better about the cruise. Princess have cut back a lot and it’s now noticeable in many areas. Entertainment was poor for an Atlantic crossing.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Average despite the ‘medallion ready’ line!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Tatty and dark they are in desperate need of an update. Food was very average and bland. This too needs some updating.

International Café

4 out of 5

Great atmosphere and service. Seating is limited.

Horizon Court

1 out of 5

Awful design and food not much better. The food area is in the middle which does not allow for the easy flow of passengers and staff.

Dining Room

2 out of 5

Dark and dingy and the food was only average. The famous baked Alaska was very disappointing. Wine was very expensive. Breakfast and lunch menus poor.Staff were amazing. Poor selection for Coeliacs and high risk of cross over.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Awful. Too many quizzes and selling of art, jewellery and beauty treatments, fitness centre was fab and so were the staff. There was a. Lot of self hosted activities of like minded people. Pool areas noisy.

Center Court

5 out of 5

Fabulous Natasha and co worker, encouragement and atmosphere was amazing.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
One good lecture from a passenger who volunteered! The rest were terrible. Shows we avoided due to poor amplification. A couple of good vocalists, and a mentalist were better.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The highlight was the staff. They do what they can with the constraints and cut backs.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Design and decor is old and needs updating. Decor is the same, clean common areas on the whole. .buffett design is a nightmare and not good for the flow of People.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Balcony on A deck was clean, comfortable and quiet.

Ship tip

Form your own opinions, we have used Princess many times and this was not what we expected.

We can't complain about the Crown, it's our favourite ship. Can't wait to go back on it in June!
