Review summary

We have sailed on almost all other cruise lines and tried princess this time because of the advertised luxurious elite style cruises as they are typically more expensive than the other liners. We have sailed on almost all other cruise lines and tried princess this time because of the advertised luxurious elite style cruises as they are typically more expensive than the other liners. So we paid a heck of a lot and got a run down old ship. Usually we buy passes for the spa but there was virtually nothing to join on the ship which was shocking

Boarded 3 hours late as ship wasn’t ready

Ship experiences

I’d say the food is comparable to the cheap Carnival ships. We were quite surprised

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
The ship is in desperate need of an overhaul. Exposed rust everywhere, carpets incredibly worn down to the point the designs are gone. I think the curtains in the stateroom were origin from when the ship was built over 15 yrs ago. Ship lost propulsion in port delaying our departure from an island. For one afternoon no toilets worked on all of deck 15. We had to find common area toilets in the mean time.

Cabin / Stateroom

OLD. However the most comfortable cruise bed I’ve ever experienced. The shower is about the size of what you get on the Carnival ship. Shower is more than two times the size on the Holland America and Norwegian ships For the quality of TV in the room, think Motel 6.

Ship tip

If you are looking for the advertised luxurious experience that is a princess cruise, the Crown It’s not the ship for you

We sailed on the Crown Princess in December 2017. I guess having 3000 guests each week does cause some wear but nothing that would ruin the cruise. Rust was evident but the crew were constantly cleaning and painting. Food is subjective but we found the offerings very good for the most part. Crew was awesome. I would sail her again.
