A nice cruise by JohnH32

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Not too impressed with the overall cruise. The staff were the best thing about the cruise. All the people who cleaned the rooms were very pleasant and polite . The waiters who waited on us all were were excellant and very obliging. I wasn't too impressed with the food. It seemed the buffet was always the same food for breakfast and lunch. Need to improve on your pool entertainment. Maybe because there weren't that many Americans on board I felt we were left out of the entertainment.

Refreshing!! by DianaR

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The ship was clean and beautiful. Some of the fabircs looked dated and some of the towels were a little ratty but in general things looked spiffy. The common areas were generously-proportioned and breezy, and I liked very much that the ship in general was not over-air-conditioned.

Please believe me and do not take it!!!! by MarielaM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Please believe me when I'm saying that you are not going to have a happy cruise.... Food: The selection is good, but the quality makes you cry!!! Awful food...and let me tell you that I'm hispanic and I eat anything!! Ports: Destinations are great, but you do not have enough time to enjoy the islands. For example, in Santorini we were literally 30'. To get to Oia which is the most beautiful part of the island, you need to take a tender, a cable rail and a 20' bus ride. The ship is at the port only for 4 hours. This situation happened at least in 4 other different ports. The only port that we have time was in Corfu which was only 6 hours.... Entertainment: OMG, do not make me start!!! It is like going to your kid's school play. Believe the reviews, do not make the same mistake I did thinking that people sometimes can be exaggerated. This is not a cruise that you are going to enjoy!!!!!

Great Cruise - Great Experience by CarlM2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Ship was very clean, in good repair. They offer a wine package for dinner prior to boarding - it is excellent - the wines are great and rather economical. Having a balacony in the stateroom was wonderful. Every night around midnight we sat on the balcony experiencing the sea and the darkness. Food is very good.

Good value for the monney - worthwhile by GeorgeH2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Had a wonderful time getting to know a lot about Greece and its Islands. Can recommend to anyone interested to see a lot in the Mediterranian in an pleasant way. Was specially impressed by the efficiency of the service staff to resolve a bad smell problem in the cabine by upgrading to a panoramic stateroom as soon as it became available and doing everthing to minimize the problem. Food was excellent, be it in the restaurants or the buffet. Guides, except one, on land tours (took them in spanish) restricted their action to comment what we saw with no or very little feedback on population, economy and other general topics of interest. Did not like on board entertainement - very amateur and mainly to fill in unused time. Musicians were not to bad.

good cruise for the money by SandraB4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The ship was very clean and the staff were friendly and efficient. Only real complaint is that the pool water was freezing and you couldn't really swim in it. Also, there was no real kid play room.

Interesting Itinerary by RichardW14

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

The staff were very nice on the ship in general. The ship had good deck space for sunning, small cabins in all categories. the showers were good in the cabins. the gym was quite small. smoking in the public rooms was excessive on this itinerary but lots of public places. The ship had a nice card / game room. The ship was kept very clean at all times.

Great worry free time by RinaV

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

My husand and I went for a 7 day Eastern Meditteranean Cruise. The Ship is quite nice, clean, and big. Our cabin was nicely sized, and bright (an oceanview cabin). Our evening waiters, our cabin steward and all the other members of the crew were amazing. Despite everyone coming from all different locations (Germany, France, Spain, Italy, England, America) the staff would practically always give instructions in all these differnent languages. Most notably there was a comedy show at night we were thinking it would be all in Italian considering 70% of the passengers were Italian, but the comedian managed to make everyone laugh nonstop while doing his whole skit in five different languages. If you are British, American, Canadian, etc and you are used to people saying excuse me, not cutting lines, smiling , etc, you will surely be quite irritated with the other passengers as they DO NOT follow any of these etiquettes as a generalization, but you quickly get over it. That was the only major downpoint for us. One thing we really appreciated was that the cruise company does their best to put all similar language speaking together, so they easily communicate together during dinnertime. Our group was absolutely wonderful and we definitely made some friends we plan to keep in touch with and meet up afterwards. Pretty much food was available at all hours, and we LOVED the pizza bar, and made sure it was our meal after a meal. The itinerary was quite nice, except we could have done with no time on Patmos, Greece, and more time on Mykonos. Our personal favorites were Santorini and Izmir.

Never Take a Costa Cruise by SaraS1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I took the Costa Victoria. The Service was horrible. The waiters and bartenders were rude. there was not a wide range of interesting excursions and they were way over priced. They did not give us enough time on any of the islands (about 4 hrs each) except for on the least interesting (about 7 hours in Izmir Turkey where if you dont do an excursion there is nothing to do or see). The information desk was never helpful and rude as well. they did not inspect the room before they let people on the ship. my room had a broken safe, a broken drawer, the sink was leaking, the door to my bathroom was broken and when they finally fixed it so it would lock, i ended up being locked in my bathroom until the actual door ended up falling off. When i thought things couldnt get worse i realized i had bed bug bites all over my left arm and leg...this was the worst cruise ever and they gave us the room from Hell. at the end of the cruise i wrote a 4 page letter of complaint and at the end i left them my e-mail address to see if they had something to say about there terrible way of running a business. This was over a week ago and they have not yet contacted me. (They probably wont because they are to cowardly to confess to there lousy service).

A pleasant cruise by SusanF7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We cruised on the Costa Victoria and feel that the ship was beautiful and well kept. The food was good but compared to Princess and Celebrity didn't have as good of a variety. The service was very good at the dining room. We had to take an inside cabin because there were no outside cabins left and we found the room to be smaller than any other ship that we have sailed on and this was our 19 th cruise. We actually tried the costa line because of the itinery , it was the Greek Islands which we enjoyed very much.

A nice cruise by Harryp

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

The passengers are 75% Italian and speeching only english is an obstical. We found the different languages and culteral customs interesting and found that to be a plus. I could see where some people may not .
