Review summary

Boring. Would not recommend the ship. The stops were great. The staff is almost invisible. The reception desk knows absolutely nothing of value. The bed was awful.

Embarkation

Confusing. This ship is completely different than all the other 24 cruises we've done. There's no check-in desk and they basically force you to check your luggage. The waiting lines then are held up with passport control. And no other ship has ever taken our US passport for a 100% EU cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The taste of the buffet food is really good it's just that they serve the exact same things every single day. And all meals after breakfast are all the same. Also, after 9PM there's no food to be had at all without paying additional for it. And the only free drink available after breakfast is still water. Coffee and tea are only available at breakfast and from 4-5pm otherwise there's a charge. Most shops at least offer ice tea and a fruit drink and hot water for coffee and tea all day and night.

Onboard Activities

Very few things to do on this ship.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Unobtrusive

Ship Quality

Boring. Decor was subdued and clean though

Cabin / Stateroom

The bed is like sleeping on concrete. Both my husband and I had terrible back and hip pain every morning.

Ship tip

Set your sights on the stops don't expect much from the ship.

Ports of call

Marseille (Provence), France Did not visit port

Winds were 50 mph. Too cold and too windy to get off

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
Barcelona is always amazing. Must see the Palace of Catalonia Art by the Placa d'Espana.

Valencia, Spain

5 out of 5
Great narrow winding streets to get lost in.

Cagliari, Sardinia

5 out of 5
Very hilly but the city bus is super convienient. Go to Place Yenne buy a ticket at the newsstand for 1.3 euro then take bus 7 for a great ride around the city, on the second round get off at the Castillo and walk back down the hills.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

2 out of 5
The train ride into Rome is just too long to really enjoy the city.

Disembarkation

They provided no information. The reception desk gave us wrong/different times and locations for being able to retrieve our passports and get off the ship.
