Perfect get away! by AnastasiyaK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

That was my first cruis trip and I had a wonderful time. I took my kid who is 5 years old with me and was able to relax, go to gyn, and go for a drink at nigth, because of the kids club on board. In the kids club they not only baby sit kids, but also intertain them by playing diffirent gaims and parties every day. The food at the bofee was great, even though I didn't go once to the restaurant when I had reserved sittings every day. All of the crew are very friendly and helpful. I would fefinetly go tho this ship again and will recommend it to my friends. Thanks, Costa Magica.

Costa - never again - disaster by NfF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We went on the Costa Magica in May, 2006. Loved Norway and all the ports. The ship was very beautiful and clean. The food was terrible. In the dining room it was OK. The buffets were terrible. The worst part was the people. Only had 100 English speaking people on the entire boat of 3600 passengers. The television was not in English. Booring..... I have never seen such rude people in my entire life and have been on 8 different cruises. Costa never again.

Never Again by BillS23

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My wife and I chose this cruise specifically because of the itinerary during December. We were disappointed by being served tepid food, finding we could actually hear people breathing in the cabin next door, slippery flooring and decks, metal protrusions of various types on deck with potentially hazardous results, unruly children in EVERY pool, hot tub and other facility, and a ship deck layout convenient to no one.

Fabulous cruise by GeorgesT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Sailed 7 days on Dec 3rd, 2006 (Ft-Lauderdale, Cozumel, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Gd Turks, Ft-Lauderdale), had a wonderful time, with lot of entertainment and fun. Food was first class (especially in restaurant, there were always italian meals on the menu), dining rooms were spacious and well organised. The service was excellent all days long. Staff was very courteous and helpful in all aspects. For the money we have paid for the cruise, it was an excellent deal (cannot go wrong). Definitely, we consider sailing again on Costa cruise lines.

Had a great time by TraceyK1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was very clean. It was nicely decorated. Our cabin was quiet, although others complained about noisy neighbors. The mattresses were very firm. The food was good, not in the top class, but more than adequate for the price. The entertainment was fine. The Urbino Theatre had an awesome stage with many professional quality options. The layout took a bit of getting used to, but was fine. It did not feel like there were 3400+ guests on board. I would definitely take this ship again!

Italian Spice by SharonB16

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My husband and I have taken approximately 10 cruises. We definitely enjoyed the Italian flavor. The entertainment was very good and different from most of our cruises. We especially enjoyed the Roman Toga night which was partnered with amateur night of very good entertainers. The evening was a lot of fun with sending each entertainer to the midnight buffet with audience clapping and shouting or sending them to the lions!! The social staff was very energetic and kept all guests involved in all activities. There were sail away parties, dance lessons and even in the rain they kept going. You should always read your today newspaper to find out the many activities on board the ship. The nightclubs have Italian flavor to include salsa dancing, a piano bar, and the famous casino. There is always something going on in the evening on deck 5 in the Grand Salcedo Lounge in the middle of the ship. From naming Mister Pizza and having lots of fun watching guests toss the dough, to Grease Lighting singing and dancing. There is always a band playing here as well to dance the night away. Plenty to eat, from Pizza, to tea and desserts, to buffet food on the lido deck or the main dining room. If you cruised before it's worth a try Italian Style, or even if you haven't cruise before you'll enjoy the experience.

The worst cruise line EVER by LindaA11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was the worst cruise line we have ever been on. We are veteran cruisers, over 25 cruises on other lines, and Costa is the worst!! The staff was very unfriendly, from the officers down. We saw things that should have been reported to the health department.

Costa Magica Trans-Atlantic November 2 by GregH6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Transatlantic

I recently returned from the Costa Magica Transatlantic sailing from Sovona Italy November 2, 2006. The crew and entertainment was the best of any ship I have ever sailed on. In particular, Max the Cruise Director ran the entertainment like clockwork. My only let down was the food. The buffet was great, however the main restaurant Portofino was average to say the least. For such a long cruise, 18 days, I would expect more from an Italian ship.

Thank Goodness for the Ports!!!! by KathleenP5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We were very disappointed in the Magica. We boarded in Copenhagen and visited Norway and the Fjords this past June. Thank goodness we were so delighted by the fjords and the ports, otherwise this would have been very unacceptable expereince. Most of the staff seemed unhappy and we had to remind them several times to get the things we needed from our Cabin Steward and from our Dining Room Wait Staff. It was a hard experience.

passengers do not matter to management by EllenW4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Transatlantic

The steward and the wait staff were wonderful, but those who managed the ship were exttremely unhelpful and uncooperative-if you could contact them. The food-not cuisine- was so so. The entertainment schedule poor and the layout of the ship confusing. It was the passengers who made the experience enjoyable.

Never Again by JulieB10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My traveling companion smokes. We found this to be the most restrictive atmosphere for smokers ever experienced. Smokers are only allowed to smoke while at the bar. This is not conducive to social behavior nor to a relaxing experience. Also, the children's video game room inside the casino is the worst arrangement I have ever seen. In addition, the evening entertainments were poorly scheduled and badly managed. For instance, once you heard one set from a musician grouping, you had heard their entire repertoire. Enjoying an evening, or enjoying several evenings in a particular locale was not possible. The cabin steward and dining staff were excellent. The dining staff was especially attentive and went above and beyond their duties to ensure a pleasant time was had by most diners.
