For the most part great. Sales staff need customer relation training. by sandyatsea

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

The transit through the canal was extremely interesting. Costa Rica and Grand Cayman had a lot to offer and experience. The other port of calls not so much.

Visiting the Panama City and Cartagena, Columbia.

Ship is old but nice.

Chairs and sofas in lounges and bars need the back pillows.

Lotas pool is lovely, but need a fresh air.

Princess not for us by Cruiser2016689

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Gave this a 3 star only because we loved the itinerary.    Disliked Princess Cruises, who favour Americans over everyone else.   Having been on many, many cruises over the years, on different cruise lines, this is the only one I would not go back on.   Think they are going to get a shock when the bigger cruise ships go through the Panama Canal, offering  much better prices, drinks packages and food.

Wonderful service and great locations for relaxation by harishchinai

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Panama Canal Cruise was in addition to great sight seeing was equally relaxing. The service was outstanding. The entertainment on the cruise was  wonderful. I was amazed to see the shows which had talented artistes, many super fast set and costume changes and really entertaining. The number of activities for all interest groups was good.

We would definitely be taking more cruises with Princess.

Exceeded Expectations by jjakcsy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Our favorite part of the cruise was going through the Panama Canal.  commentary as we went through was excellent.  Historic moments.

The least favorite thing about the cruise was the buffet coffee.  Tasted worse than instant.  Also the tendering process to get back on the ship from a port with no landing was not good.  Gas fumes and violent rocking of the tender was difficult to go through.   Even with these few down areas. we would greatly recommend this cruise to others.

Pacific Coast Cruise by Fran1970

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

This cruise was a fantastic 6 port cruise starting in Vancouver and ending in Los Angeles.  The crew, entertainment, and food were superb.  I enjoyed all of my excursions in the ports of Nanaimo, Astoria, and San Francisco.  The excursion I chose in Santa Barbara should be taken off the list.  This excursion of seeing actors' homes and stopping at a shopping center was less than to be desired.  All was seen was driveways and walls and bushes, no homes, which were driven by fairly fast.  The shopping center was a joke of irrelevant stores such as a grocery store, pet store, and eye glasses.  Fellow passengers were very friendly as well. Many returning cruisers that were equally happy with this cruise.Happy

Disappointing Cruise by carolynstaehlin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

I have taken four Carnival Cruises before and decided, based on the food, I would take another Princess Cruise because the food was wonderful.  Big mistake and sorry I talked it up to my friends.  I was very disappointed in the food on this cruise.  I will be going back to the Fun Ship because of the variety of international food offered in the buffet and the menu in the dining rooms.

Dissapointed in food & entertainment on ship. by dustyedwards

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Horizon waiters mostly unhappy & reluctantly waited on passengers. Other than the nightly sing/dance productions, almost no other activities & entertainment other than trivia, ect. Experienced cruisers mostly want excellent food & good comedy/entertainment on ship.

Coral Princess Cruise and Land tour by clou1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Favorite part of the cruise was visiting the ports and the glacier fjords.

The food was okay with a few very good items.  But there were plenty of items to choose from and a fairly good variety of selections from day to day.  We enjoyed the Belgium waffles.  Dining in the dining rooms was pleasant with some very attentive servers.  Again, the food was okay with one or two exceptional items.

We would not recommend eating at the Bayou specialty restaurant unless you really like Cajun food.  We were looking for a great steak and there was a limited variety of steaks most of which were tough.

Our room was comfortable.  The bed was amazing.

We enjoyed the vocal impersonator show and the naturalist shows.  The dancing/music show was only so-so with some of the performers just going through the motions.  We did not understand the emphasis placed on Cajun foods and entertainment for a ship heading to and from Alaska.  We thoroughly enjoyed the pianist at the open bar who played for Frank Sinatra.  He was phenomenal!  We wish he could have played in a larger venue.

We also enjoyed the complimentary tour of the kitchens in the ship.

Northbound Glacier Cruise by phylliservin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

All the staff was so helpful and friendly. I did feel that the first day some crew members were a little pushy with sales. Our cabin was spotless. The food plentiful and delicious. Entertainment was everywhere each evening. Top rated.  Unfortunately there was a sewer type odor in the atrium area and down our hallway.  I wish it had been taken care of during our sail. The naturalists on board and national park people were awesome. And Mother Nature put on the best show!

lovely by vikmc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The food was not "really" good.  lots of children in the soluriam...it is summer and cold and rainy for the out door pool.  do not spend as much time there as would have preferred.  The land part of the curise was fabolious.  From boarding the train to the luggage system of "meet me tonight"  was  very well planned Kudo to Princess.

The scenery was Majestic, first time traveling on Princess everything was above and beyond our expectation.  Will definitely cruise Princess again.  Would return to Alaska if there were not many other places we want to visit.

Below average experience. by gilbertlee1010

Comparing with my other cruise experience, the food choice is less, the food quality is poorer, the overall entertainment program is boring, and the room is less clean.

Nice ship, nice scenery by KECNYR

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

We were looking forward seeing the great Alaskan scenery and I can say, we had a wonderful time. The Captain turned the ship around a few times, so everyone could see the great Glacier. The Coral is a nice ship. Although we had nice weather, only once it rained in Ketchikan, it was too cold to use the outside swimming pool. Luckily, the Coral has an inside pool. I wish every ship  would have one. Nice crew. We had a good room steward. Entertainment was good. I love the dance shows. All went smooth from check in till check out. Food in MDR was good and a good variety. Buffet: I expected more variety. Specialty restaurant: overpriced. We loved to have Iditarod puppies on board in Ketchikan.

Nice Alaskan Venture by joemcnasby

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Our favorite part was the quality of the tours both on land and sea. We did the cruise portion first. The ports on the cruise portion were great and the last two days on the cruise, cruising the glaciers was very relaxing. The land portion was equally good on the tours. The tours automatically included in the land portion were top notch.

One recommendation on the land tour would be to hand out information on the entire land tour at the beginning just like they do on the cruise portion. On the land tour, you didn't receive information on the tours, etc. until you arrived at each lodge.
