Coral Princess Cruise Reviews - Reviews

We recently sailed the Coral Princess from Whittier to Vancouver. This was a first cruise with Princess. The ship and amenities did not disappoint in the slightest. The furnishings were 'rich' in appearance. The Wheelhouse Bar is the best example of this although there are several other examples. The richness of the wood used in this setting was special; lending greatly to the ambiance. The plushness of all the furniture was a plus to this room.

p Booked this cruise last minute as a balcony guarantee and were given a BA extended balcony on the Caribe deck. Perfect because it was partially covered. Ship was great for Alaska. It NEVER felt crowded. The space ratio is much better on this ship than most others I have been on. Crew members were fabulous! p p My only complaint would be the lack of entertainment for a couple in their late 20s. We enjoyed watching movies in the aft theater one evening, but the MUTS didn#39;t work out due to rain and wet decks/chairs. Shows just weren#39;t our style, although the comedian was funny. Meeting Libby Riddles was a nice treat, had a few of her books signed to bring back to my classroom.

p If you#39;ve never done an Alaskan cruise, this is a MUST for your bucket list!! We did the South to North trip, and I would suggest you try for a starboard room (southbound, go for a portside room). We missed the salmon run by less than a week, but all in all it was a great trip. Coral Princess is well suited for the Passage, and when in Glacier Bay you get up close and personal with some of them!. One thing... when the Forest Service guide is on board doing the talk, you will want to be out on deck. You cannot hear them while in your cabin/balcony.Food was quite good. We were at a table of 8, and had a blast! I wish we spent more time in Ketchikan, it#39;s a bit tight especially if you do any excursions, and if your docking is on the north part of town. The fish hatchery in Juneau is not very interesting, (unless the salmon are running, then it gets better) Otherwise, you get a talk of what they are doing, then visit the gift shop. That#39;s it. The Mendenhall Glacier, however, is really awesome! When we went we were innundated with Japanese tourists, and it kind of took away from the visit (the Ugly American had been replaced by the Ugly Japanese) Debarking in Whittier is interesting. There is only one road into the town, and it is a long tunnel shared by the Alaska Rairroad and auto traffic. It is also only one way. Traffic control is paramount, so if you miss the time window, you will wait for another hour. We took the train to Talkeetna, (with a short stop in Anchorage to pick up a couple of late risers...they missed the train....kudos to Princess!) then stayed at Princess properties, 2 nights each in McKinley, Denali, and Riverside Fairbanks Lodges. Of the 3, Riverside was by far the most disappointing. (very poor customer service) Suggestion....fly into Seattle, then take the limo. You will save many dollars, and you turn over your luggage to Princess at the Seattle airport...no worries trying to collect, tip porters, etc.

We were very please with the condition, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. And when we got lost, we were directed to the proper place immediately. Considering the age of the ship, it is in wonderful condition.

p Absoultely fantastic cruise! The ship, the staff, the food, the ports...the amazing Panama Canal...everything was just perfect! One thing that impressed me the most is how the crew handled the extra work due to an outbreak of Gastro on the ship that came from people who spent the night in Acapulco with smiles. Never one complaint...they are all very hard working people who truely enjoy working with Princess. We had such a great time we#39;re already planning our next Princess cruise to Alaska!

We absolutely loved this cruise! Ever since my grade 6 social studies class, I had always wanted to see the panama canal. I was thrilled to see it, and would do it again in a heart beat - if there wasn't so much of the world to see! Lovely ship, wonderful staff; some even hugged us as we got off the ship. We made such wonderful friends and I'll never forget it!

Great cruise and really enjoyed learning the history of the Panama Canal.

Every aspect of this cruise was perfect in every minute detail. The service in the dining room and on the Lido Deck was superb. This was the Christmas 2010 Cruise. The ship was beatuifully decorated. The Atrium was unbelieveable! Christmas trees were everywhere, electric trains were running merrily on their tracks, and they even had little decorations outside each cabin. They had wonderful holiday activities planned. Add all of this to the spectacle of the Panama Canal, and it amounts to a must do cruise. This was about my 40th cruise, and I would rate it as my very best overall experience.

Ship was in excellent shape, clean the food was excellent, service excellent.

The ship was beautiful, our balcony room was very nice The service people were terrific.

We loved just about everything about this cruise - The Coral Princess galleys gave Celebrity a run for their money - and Celebrity had one of the best "kitchens" going. Neat midnight buffets - neat demonstrations - neat entertainment.

All I can say is that this is the best cruise I have been on. I have been on many of the bigger ships and they are always way to crowded. This is a perfect size ship also very clean. The decor is really nice (unlike the tacky Carnival decor) Beautiful ship overall. I highly recommend this ship to cruisers.

The trip with the added glacier sailing was spectacular. I had done this cruise 10 years ago and now took my husband. Each day he said,, "it can't get better than this and it DID!". we took an excersion with a canoe trip to the hubbard glacier that was outstanding!

The ship was great. Food was good. We enjoyed the entertainment. The Wakeup Show in the morning with the cruise director and the assistant cruise director was like watch Martin and Lewis. The only down side was a humming noise that vibrated our stateroom on the last two days of the cruise. The crew could not determine exactly what was causing the noise.

The ship was very clean & had a great layout. It was very easy to navigate.

The organization of the offshore excursions was exceptional, the selection was great. We were so satisfied. I don't think anyone wants to read long and detailed reviews--I just say it was great--try it.

Ship refitted before our cruise. It had a "new" feeling. Refitting included "The Sanctuary," which provided a secluded respite for a reasonable additional charge.
