Review summary

We recently sailed the Coral Princess from Whittier to Vancouver. This was a first cruise with Princess. The ship and amenities did not disappoint in the slightest. The furnishings were 'rich' in appearance. The Wheelhouse Bar is the best example of this although there are several other examples. The richness of the wood used in this setting was special; lending greatly to the ambiance. The plushness of all the furniture was a plus to this room.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
As mentioned previously we booked the "anytime" dining. This was not as convenient as the term might imply, or perhaps we just misconstrued the term. It might be beneficial for a more complete disclosure of the term in pre-booking materials to explain that without specific time reservations one might find oneself waiting in line to be seated.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was in very good condition and all public areas were always clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5

Pros: pre-cruise land excursions to Denali, ease of transfers from plane to lodge to train to ship and to home bound plane at trip's end. The forethought and planning by Princess to make this a "zero anxiety" experience is appreciated beyond description.

Cons: The anytime dining is not explained very well as to what this term means exactly. A more detailed description to explain that there are limited hours, and that there may be waiting lines would be a more accurate and more complete disclosure.
