met my expectations - i'm not a beach resort person and excursions had little to offer; cruise itself was relaxing and kept me interested on board. panama canal transit the obvious highlight - incredible engineering - was glad to have read McCulloughs book beforehand

'everglades' tour cut short by 1 hr because some participants had 3pm flight even tho description clearly stated later than 4pm! but didnt matter - terrible tour - 'everglades' was a noisy airboat trip around a flooded canal with little of interest other than a few alligators; not the Everglades NP and nothing of 'UN Heritage site caliber.' flamingo gardens was a pathetic roadside zoo - small flamingo pond, and dreary 'aviary' lacking any signage or descriptions - claimed 300 species of birds(!!!) while actually less than a dozen; raptors pent up in small, dark enclosures - entire 'park' is decades out of current zoo standards
