Review summary

The Panama Transit is worth the trip! The weather was warm. The ship had plenty of room for all passengers so we never felt crowded. It was very relaxing.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was unbelievably smooth. We purchased transfer as it was a new port for us. The transfers were smooth and had plenty of people to help you along the way.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I must say I had one of my best meals and one of my worst in the dining room. When I spoke up about something I did not like, the wait staff whisked it away and replaced it.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There is lots to do. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the Lotus Garden where there was a covered area with pools and hot tubs.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We cruise a fair bit, once or twice a year. This had some of the best entertainment we have seen. The comedians were funny, the singers and dancers excellent and the band top notch.

Children's Programs

I did not bring children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Princess shined in this area. The service was excellent. Jesus, our cabin attendant, was so attentive and anticipated our every need.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The layout of this ship was great. It never felt one bit crowded.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
B533 was an interior cabin. There was adequate space.

Ship tip

If I were sailing to the Panama Canal again, I might splurge on a balcony cabin to watch the passage through the locks. We are hardly ever in our cabins and usually book an interior.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

We went from the airport to the ship.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

We had a snorkeling excursion. The excursion should have been cancelled. The water was too rough. It was coming over our snorkels. Too rough for kayaking too. The reason I gave it three stars was because the staff onboard was truly wonderful. They took us to watch whales, did a great little skit, and gave us a nice lunch.

Huatulco, Mexico Did not visit port

Our excursion was cancelled. We did not get off the ship.

San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua Did not visit port

The water was too rough for our tenders.

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

We went to watch a horse show. It was great! (Expensive, but great.) This excursion would have been vastly improve by having even a simple brochure to explain each section of the performance. We needed something to explain what we were seeing to appreciate the level of difficulty.

Panama Canal Transit

5 out of 5
This was fabulous!!! I booked this trip because it fit with our schedule. The Panama Canal Transit was so interesting and educational. We had someone talking about the transit the entire time. He gave us antidotes and explained every step of the way. We thoroughly enjoyed the transit.

Cartagena, Colombia Did not visit port

We did not get off the ship.

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
We went on a snorkeling excursion. Nice trip. Water was a bit cloudy, but it was warm. We did see wildlife and enjoy the trip.

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida Did not visit port

We went from the ship to the airport.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Lovely job of disembarkation and transfers.
