Review summary

Love the summit! Would cruise on her again in a heartbeat just for her crew. We wanted to try a smaller older ship without all the water slides and go carts etc. to see if it was more enjoyable and intimate and we were not let down. When we were saying goodbye to the staff in blu we were practically in tears and felt like we were saying goodbye to family or old friends but in reality we we were saying see you again soon to new friends 😬

Embarkation

Walked right in at scheduled time and was on ship within 15 min.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Stayed in aqua class so all dinners were had there except one which was specialty in Tuscan grille. Tuscan was fantastic. Blu has the best staff I have seen led by the best matre d’ ever (Serkan). The food is fresh and well prepared but may not be for some as it is a bit different and healthier.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Did not take part in any. Just relaxed

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Did not attend any shows this cruise but all the live entertainment were great. Loved all the lounge acts.

Service and Staff

Only my 3rd cruise but this was the best to date. Two others were ncl and this staff is on another level. Kudos

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Much older and smaller ship compared to todays standards but I liked the scaled down ship. The crew keep it very clean and has been updated in last 5 years. The outdoor areas are showing it’s age though. A little rust here and there and bubbled paint. But I kinda liked it. Gives it some character. Lol

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin for the most part was very well kept. For a aqua class balcony stateroom with a premium charge I feel the shower was quite tight but I understand it’s a ship over 20 years old and when renovating it’s tough to make bathrooms bigger. The colors and decor were lovely though. The super wide love seat was a bit stained and balcony door took two hands and a monster pull to open as it was sticking on latch. The extra amenities in aqua class are a nice touch. Bath robes and slippers. Yoga mat. Binoculars. Umbrella and several other perks.

Ship tip

Just don’t be too picky and enjoy. It’s an older smaller ship but easy to navigate and doesn’t feel too crowded even when sold out.

Ports of call

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

Absolutely beautiful! Very clean and the friendliest most helpful locals. Much to do here. Beaches are amazing. Great snorkeling and sightseeing. 3 days was not enough

Cruise Statue Of Liberty

5 out of 5
Born and raised in New Jersey so Statue of Liberty is nothing new to me but it’s nice that the captain takes a nice scenic ride by her before heading out to sea. Nice touch!

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

5 out of 5
Easy port to park or be dropped off at. Never saw a big crowd or line entering.

Disembarkation

Had to leave room by 7:30. 8 am is last seating for breakfast and we were give a 9:30 disembark time in which we were put into the theatre to wait for 1 1/2 hrs. Was not crazy for that.
