Embarkation

5 out of 5
We were to arrive at 11:30, however with driving 2 1/2 hours, and traveling on a Monday, we left early in anticipation of any delays with traffic. We arrived at 10:30 and parked in the garage, went into the terminal, they allowed us to sign in and then directed us to sit on the one side of the terminal. Boarding started at 11:00. We were allowed to go to our cabin, drop off the carry on and proceed around the ship until 1:00 pm. Then we could go to our cabin.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food is all areas was good quality and choices. The Tuscan Grill was delicious.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We would have liked to see more activities like classes being offered. When we would read their daily planner, it was filled with sales at the spa, shops and art gallery.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
We were very disappointed in the production shows and the quality of the headliners. It was not that the production show singers and dancers did not have good voices, but rather the choreographer and production manager's choices of songs and dance routines and costumes. that fell short.

Children's Programs

No Children were traveling with us

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The ship's personnel in ALL areas was excellent. They were courteous, friendly, and could not wait to go out their way to help you in any need you may have had.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship was easy to learn where everything was and in a matter of a day we knew our way around. It was just the right size. It was smaller then other ships that we have been cruising on, but still large enough not to feel crowded. We never felt like we had to wait in line for anything, there were seats available in all venues that we went to, including the solarium. What we loved about the ship is that they had regular chairs with arms to sit on in the solarium and on the sun decks. Most ships only have the lounges and at our age, we can not sit on them. So this ship was a true pleaser on having proper chairs in ALL areas, for those that have difficulties getting up and out of a seat.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was an inside, midship, right outside the elevator. With it being so close to the elevator, we were so worried about the noise level. WE LOVED IT. This was the best inside cabin out of 30 cruises that we cruised on. The location was Perfect. The cabin was Spacious with plenty of storage areas. The shower seemed a little dark, but we had a hooked flashlight that we hung on the clothes line that was stretched out and that worked out great. Bring extra coat hangers as they do not give you enough on any ship. We always bring the cheap thin metal ones. You will love this cabin if you book it. The thermostat was easy to regulate and cooled the room off quickly when needed. Our cabin steward was perfect, there was always two entries each day to clean the cabin. There was candy on the pillows each night as well as the daily planner on the bed. The On Demand movies were no charge and current releases.

Ship tip

We loved to sit on the back of the ship on Deck 10 outside of the Buffet. Even if you are not eating, in the evening it is a nice place to enjoy the night air. Deck 11 above the pool deck you will find a little secluded section with plastic chairs witih cushions and couches to get away from the crowds, easy to get up from and enjoy the sun. There is a bar right around the corner for drinks. If it is raining, right next to it they have a little gazebo with a table and cushioned couches, that was lovely to sit during the day. Be sure to check out what dinner themes are being held at the Buffet each night. We ate int he dinning room each night for dinner, but learned on the last night that they had country themes each night upstairs. We went up late one night for a snack and saw that they had Greek night. What a spread they had for that. So don't let the Buffet fall short of your choices for dinner.

Ports of call

Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts

We loved Oaks Bluff. It was a cozy town with an old flare in design. We ate at the Lookout Tavern which is over by the water and long wooden dock. Great photos of the ship from there. We had the Lobster Rolls for lunch there. You can get them hot with butter or cold with Mayo. I had the hot and it was the best lobster I ever had. They were $32.00 each but worth every single cent of it. Great experience. We had to tender in and that was a very bad experience on the way back to the ship. The winds picked up really bad. In fact, by 1:00pm the Captain announced that they would not be allowing any more passengers to go ashore. We had went on the tender about 10:30 and it was ok then. The winds picked up after lunch, signs were blowing down the street, so we went back to the tender to go back to the ship. It was a very rough ride and took 7 times for the tender to be able to hook up to the ship for us to get off. Getting onto the ship was very difficult as the seas were so rough, even being tied up the tender was banging against the ship and we had to jump from the tender to the tender platform when the crew told us to jump. They grabbed us on the tender and also the crew was on the platform to catch us. It truly turned me from going on a tender port again. The crew did a fantastic job securing everyone onboard safely.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

We took the Ferry to St. Georges, the cost was $4.50 pp each way. It took about 1/2 hour, was a pleasant ride. We visited a nice gift shop which was opposite the town square of the corner of the street toward the back where you go to the church. They had everything there. We grabbed a bite of lunch from a restaurant by the water and shared a delicious pizza.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We were number 8 for disembarking, we got off at 9:08 just like they said. We left our cabin at 8, went up to the Buffet and had breakfast, came down to the Theatre where they told us to wait. There was no place to sit. So next time, I think we will skip breakfast and go directly to the Theatre so we can have a place to sit. Disembarking was on Deck 4, forward. We walked out onto the ourside dieck on 4 and was directed to the gang plank. We went over to the terminal, got our luggage with a porter. He took it to the car for us. Going through customs was easy, we had to show our passports as the machines were down. It was an easy disembarkation.
