Of we’ll over twenty cruises the 14 night New England and Canada cruise stands out. Although I missed the warmth of the Carib, I enjoyed the history, beautiful scenery and friendly people on this cruise. Summit has been beautifully restored and we enjoyed lots of relaxation on sea days. Captain Matt and the crew were great.
Embarkation

Suite check in was painless. A staffer came over to me, scanned my paperwork and I was sent to security and on the ship in about 15 minutes. There was a priority security line for suites and only two people were ahead of us.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The first night we took advantage of a discount at Tuscan Grille. Food was very good but overwhelming. Starve yourself for at least a day. Most of the next two weeks we ate dinner in Luminae, for suite guests. Food was very good and you have the option of MDR menu if the nightly Luminae menu doesn’t strike your fancy. The surroundings were bright and comfortable, staff was terrific and very attentive. There was often friendly chatter with neighboring tables.
Had room service breakfast a couple of times, but a little disappointing. Ocean Grill for breakfast was the quickest way with a good selection until 10:30 and more limited until 11:30.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
I found fewer scheduled activities than some other ships. Nacho was a terrific dance leader by the main pool - really got people up and having fun.
I attended two lectures in the Retreat which were very interesting. One was on whales, particularly Beluga whales, which frequent St. Lawrence, and the other was on shipping, pirates, privateers and treasure.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Shows, productions and comedians were good. I love the theater with love seats and small tables for drinks or snacks. Some fun shows and games up in Sky Lounge. Music and dancing in Rendezvous Lounge nightly was good.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff overall was friendly, professional and efficient. Our suite butler and attendant were very responsive and helpful. Service in the Retreat Lounge and deck were great. The Concierges were always ready to help or offer advice. Luminae service were friendly and helpful. The Luminae Sommelier, Jennifer, is the best.
Captain Matt was everywhere and very friendly and approachable on his maiden command. He was even at the terminal to say goodbye as we disembarked.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We cruised last October, before the revolution. The ship has been greatly improved. The lighter and brighter textures and furniture in common areas, dining rooms, etc. are much friendlier places.
Cabin / Stateroom

The Celebrity Suite design and quality of furniture were wonderful: very comfortable and functional. Suite was large enough to entertain. Separate bedroom was quiet, dark and bedding was very comfortable. Bathroom was a good size with two sinks and jacuzzi tub/shower. Veranda was large with two chairs, a plant and small tables. Would suggest larger table outside for dining.
Wonderful old city, want to go back. Ship is about ten minute ride from town. First day walked on our own in Old Quebec. With six ships in it was very crowded and a llittle tough walking hills and cobblestone streets, but lovely shopping. Second day took 7 hour bus tour to upper city, the Wall and out to the Basilica Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, Montmorency Falls (higher than Niagara), lunch in a scenic country restaurant. Very informative. Lots of stops to walk around, shop, etc. At St. Ann’s don’t miss the Pieta and check out the Stations of the Cross on the adjacent hill.
Beautiful Scenic old town. Took whale watch excursion and saw a whale frolicking with two dolphins. Didn’t show much but he surfaced a few times. It can be really cold outside especially when the boat is rushing to the site. Bundle up. Sitting outside may not be great strategy because once a whale is spotted everyone piles out to the rail in front of you. Glad we did it.
No excursion, just got off the ship for some local shopping and walking. Very pleasant area with musicians and shops, got ice cream in Cows (nice), visited St. Dunstan’s Basilica just up the road from port. Worth the walk.
Not much to do here. Off the ship is a shopping terminal and the Big Fiddle. Walked along a new waterfront area, with just a couple of food and ice cream trucks. Looks like the town is preparing for more ships.
Took a great ride on a beautiful old schooner. Great chat with crew about operations on the boat as well as info on Portland. Land portion took us to a scenic lighthouse, great photos.
Ship docks near town. Good shopping in terminal, short walking to excellent waterfront area with museums, restaurants, more shopping, local street entertainment. Took a wonderful, intimate “wine and cheese sail” on a sloop with four other Summit passengers. Sampled four local Nova Scotia wines and cheeses. Good time, great conversation , well worth it.
As a suite guest disembarkation, as well as tendering, was top notch. The concierges in the Retreat brought small groups to the gangway or tender as soon as an opening was available.
Luggage was closest to Customs. Customs was a facial recognition pass by with no declaration form.
We did the same itinerary 2 years ago. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I was interested in your review of the renovation. Thank you. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.
