This is the first time that we have not given a perfect score on a Celebrity Cruise. We hope that it was just an anomaly, and all of the kinks were be worked out very soon
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We arrived early, and experienced almost no line ups. Only hiccup was that our online check-in pictures were too light. Same ones we used last cruise???
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
As Aqua Class cruisers, we found the service was quite slow compared to our previous 5 cruises on this ship. The food was often warm, even tepid, and some was rather rubbery. The staff was superb, as always. This trip did not measure up to our previous 17 with Celebrity.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We tend to enjoy a more leisurely cruise, so we do not generally participate in many activities, but the programs seemed comparable to our other cruises.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
This cruise featured the Almost Three Tenors, a fabulous trio that we enjoyed on our last cruise. The music throughout the venues was more appropriate for the type of cruisers that make the mainstay of Celebrity cruisers: this was one area that we found lacking in previous cruises.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We have never encountered poor staff on a Celebrity cruise, and this experience was no different. Our cabin steward was incredibly efficient and quick. The servers in the Blu, as noted, were fabulous and personable.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
We were rather surprised at the number of problems that the crew faced. Several lights were burnt out, Some of the refreshment stations seemed to need constant attention. We required some plumbing maintenance on our first day: dealt with immediately, and other cabins were been attended by the crew. The shower was very small.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was new and fresh. It was very clean. BUT THE SHOWER IS A BIT TOO SMALL.
Ship tip
Light sleepers beware: Avoid a cabin under the pool area. We were upgraded and assigned this cabin.
This is not the most convenient cruise port, and it can be costly for transfers from the airport and/or hotels in Newark. The route is much better than our first time there, and the area has been much improved - our first trip was almost scary passing through the area.
Bermuda is an expensive island, because of its geographical location. The wharf is very close to the terminal and offers several amenities. However, to get anywhere on the island can be a bit pricey - the dock is about as far away from everything as one can get. An island cruise is a must, but do it on Thursday to witness the "dunking of the town gossip and nag". A 2-1/2 day stay may be a bit too long, especially if it is your second trip.
We did the Freedom Trail tour for our first visit, ever, to Boston. It was very informative and helped to see a bit of the area around Boston, as well as visiting Harvard. Our lunch break was at Quincy Market - an interesting stop, but we found everything to be quite pricey.
This is a quaint little settlement. Being born near Niagara Falls, I recognized that the town was full of tourists who had come to enjoy the offerings of the area - and they are enjoyable (we are contemplating on returning for a few days vacation). We board any trolley for a tour of the Acadia National Park.
Having cleared immigration, on board, in Boston, there was nothing more than a walk-by with a customs officer to declare the value of any goods were had purchased. Almost no line up
