Review summary

The overall cruise was great in spite of getting sick. If I do not get my money returned for two excursions, I will not use for excursions or booking plans. I did purchase insurance. If you go to a doctor on ship with a cold, he will charge more than the excursion and will confine me to my room. I do have receipts for cold medicine. - I had to walk 2 hours to finally get an excursion trolley. Not fun with a cold.

Excellent, but understaffed in bar areas.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Great for an older ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5

Ship tip

Don't compare it with the larger ships, or you might be disappointed.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

2 out of 5
Loved seeing Manhattan Island and the Statue of Liberty from the ship.

Bar Harbor, Maine

4 out of 5
The Schooner excursion would have been better if we could find the bus right away. They are not letting your buses in the cruise area.

Saint John, New Brunswick Did not visit port

Halifax, Nova Scotia

4 out of 5
Great to see Peggy's Cove.

Portland, Maine

4 out of 5
Would have been great even with a bad cold, but the excursion turned out to be a disapointing.

Boston, Massachusetts Did not visit port

Did not try again after the disapointing experience.

Newport, Rhode Island

Was not going to go on excursion because I was sick. Decided to go and could not make the excursion on time because the tenders could not get out. The sail boats were in the way.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It would have gone smother if passengers followed the rules.

Ships doctors don't accept insurance so they don't have to discount. That boosts the price about 75%. As a former hospital administrator, I was really surprised at my first visit to the ship's sickbay.

I am reading more and more about how expensive the ship's doctor is. Unexpected!
