Disappointed as good reviews made us book with Celebrity for our birthday cruise

Review summary

My husband and i share a birthday and were si excited for a cruise vacation

The booking with was so easy

 

But then things didnt go as planned at all

Our cruise was shortened by 3 1/ 2 days with a mechanical issue with the ship so that may have flavored out experience.

However from adjusting our plans and then to the ship  thru disembarking was not very customer friendly. We reserved a conscierge level  room and often the staff were not available. Such as  when the ship had another unplanned  issue and we were rerouted to St Croix the conscierge staff had no resources available and was of limited help with excursions.

 

When the cruise was shortened it was very frustrating that each Celebrity rep when I called had no answers from when to check in and bagage tags.

We were given a credit but it was not what we had calculated for the per day refund  and the staff when I called about use of on board credit was not helpful at all and in fact told me we had to use it all or loose it which was not true.

 

On the cruise, the dining areas were really crowded and often the food items appeared to have been sitting for an extended time.

We mostly made reservations and ate in one of the dining rooms but service at breakfast was really slow

The wait staff for dinner were wonderful and very attentive. We had the great experience of being seated with Meanor- and his team

 

I would not likely choose Celebrity or its parent company Royal Caribbean again for a Caribbean cruise but would look at booking through
