Review summary

The food, entertainment and services environment aboard the Celebrity Summit were all generally good.  The specialty restaurant Qsine was particularly enjoyable.  On the other hand, the excursions were substantially less enjoyable.  Several of our excursions included visits to historical sites and information on the human and geological history of the islands, but in general, the quality of the guides was poor and sometimes non-existent.  The best experiences for passengers seemed to be going to the beach for all or part of the day.  We were very disappointed in the support provided for the Jewish sabbath.  The Summit listed a room for services on Friday night that was hard to find and provided no other support.  A previous cruise on a different line laid out wine, challah and prayer books for our use.  The ship also did not provide any support for people to play games such as bridge and Mah Jong, leaving it to passengers to find each other.  Beyond that, we had hoped that there would be an expert on board to provide lectures about the islands we were visiting.  There wasn't.  Rather, we were invited to attend presentations on the best shopping spots.  We had no interest in them.
