Review summary
Loved Madeira but should go in the spring when flowers are in bloom. Loved the fact that you're given an option on the tipping procedures, ie, credit card deduction or envelope system. Some cruise lines don't give the option. Don't like the 5 days at sea. Would prefer more ports but naturally, that's impossible when crossing the Atlantic. Glad I did this the one time but will not do again. There's only so many books a person can read and I don't play the silly games at sea. Enjoyed the lecture given by Dr. Whitford on tsunami's. Food was ok most of the time. I prefer NCL because of the dress policy. Dressing for dinner makes it difficult to pack for two weeks and still keep the weight down to satisfy airline baggage requirements. Casual is much preferred. All in all it was a good experience but certainly opinions will differ with each personality.Ports of call
Santa Cruz De La Palma, Canary Islands
Pros: Ship was neat and clean
Cons: mattress was swayback and very uncomfortable
