Wonderful Cruise by Csauer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

We truly enjoyed this cruise, and we thought it was well organized and efficient when disembarking at ports. Just a side note on excursions....New Zealanders are “on their own schedule”,so if an excursion states it’s only 3 hours, it could, possibly, be much longer (which was the case on all our excursions). But, we never missed the ship’s departure!

Again the crew and passengers were very different than the first cruise we took on this ship; from not as courteousness or helpful.

A very memorable and beautiful Pacific Cruise! by cynguen36

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Hawaii

This was a honeymoon for us. We participated in many activities. We loved the glass blowing class, history presentations of comedy, and trivia. We enjoyed the casino, piano concert with the celebrity orchestra, table tennis, and all the music! We would do this again!! Thank you!!

9/13/19 Vancouver to Hawaii on the Celebrity Solstice by dhamm72

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Hawaii

This is a trip we are glad we took, but probably wouldn’t take again. On the plus side, it is a relatively inexpensive way to visit Hawaii, which is hideously expensive. Room and food cost us about $180 per person per day on the boat. Comparable accommodations and meals would probably cost at least twice as much on land. Not to mention we saved some on air fare. Flights to Vancouver are much less than flights to Hawaii. In addition, we got to visit three islands, one with two stops. On the downside, tendering at Kona and Lahaina limit how much time you have to visit these ports. There are some sights we would like to see, especially on Maui, that would better be done while staying there. The first day in Lahaina the sea was pretty rough and getting on and off the tenders was challenging, especially for people with mobility issues.

Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Celebrity Cruises gave us such a memorable and fun trip. Captain Alex was hilarious as well as Cruise Director Lewis and Patrick. They pack so many activities you dont have a chance to be bored. The attitude of all on board was that of positivity and happy to see you!! I am already planning our next cruise!! Thank you Captain Alex and crew!!

Alaska is a must see! by hdftby100

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The experience was great and loved Alaska. The ship was the best way to see it all, but the cruise itself was average. I recommend everyone put Alaska on their bucket list. Glad we went on it! Wildlife and nature was beautiful.

We've been on 9 cruises and this was the best cruise for personal service. by DennisMi23

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was a once in a lifetime trip for our other two travelling couples and they were "blown away". This was not our first time to visit most of the destinations but it was the best cruise.

Solstice Alaskan Cruise by jamiecarter8300

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Great trip, Alaska is amazing. Dining room times are an issue for breakfast and lunch, which caused most guest to go to the buffet. The buffet did not have enough seating to accommodate the large crowds. The buffet had the same items all of the time, no variety. The boat was beautiful but the furniture in the lounges and theatres are worn. Furniture needs replacing/updating. The Alaskan experience was wonderful.

If you want to go on a cruise where you can relax, enjoy nature, go on excursions on the glaciers, water rafting, view whales and just catch up on some R&R, go to Alaska!! If you want to go to Alaska and feel like it was worth the cost, travel Princess.

Great experience, overall cruise is great. Some staff were rude, most are very helpful. by jujuratana

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I think Celebrity has a great staffs and trained their staff well on manner. However, we anticipated couple problem with some staff in dining room, guest relation and the securities staffs during getting off on a port. 1. First the staff on the 14th floor spoke rudely to me when I went and filled my water bottle on the water drinking machine. I admitted I didn't see the sticker saying I can't bring container to fill water, or if my mother -in-laws saw it she wouldn't be able to read the English as she speak little English. When one staff saw me did that, he walked to me and said in a rude voice "You can't do that!". He spoke to me as I wasn't a value customer on the ship. I could imagine if it were the chief of the dining room ( the french looking guy wearing tie at all time, and always stood there on the deck 14th), he would have at least said it softly with the "Madam" in the front, or with an "excuse me". I was so upset we got into couple sentence of argument and he walked away. This considering very bad experience for me. And when I told my aunt who is a US citizen, she said he discriminated me. ( that guy also an asian ethic, more Filipino looking), I didn't catch his name, but remember his face clearly. 2. Another staff on guest relation was being irritated. I came in to ask her to transfer the on-board credit from one room to mine. I did that a day earlier with another guy who was super friendly and helpful, he did the same process within 5 minutes without any issue. While with this woman, Iveta is her name, she was trying to make the process more difficult then it should be. She had me wait for 3 minutes while she strolled along and tried to find the paper forms. I told her I didn't need a form to do the transfer the day before, she spoke with her cold face without any smiling and said "But this is the right procedure.". So I admitted and waited for her. She finally found the form, had me fill it in and once I did I asked her when will the process be done. Her answer was "I have to give it to my accountant." I asked her again, "So what time will it be done, can you tell me , morning or afternoon?", she answered "During today." I asked again "Ok, will it be done by the end of today?? My mom would need that credit for shopping on the ship". She answered "During today." I got upset so I said to her "That isn't really helpful, but Thank you!" and I walked away. I told my husband what happened he was pissed and came back to the counter where Iveta was disappeared. Another girl was trying to help us when my husband insisted on speaking to the manager, she denied to call a manager and said she might be able to help. A minute later Iveta walked back, my husband said to another lady that Iveta hasn't been helpful at all and tried to irritate me on purpose. She made the process harder that it should be and the way she answer my questions was a very bad guest relation. She hasn't been train properly obviously. She just calmly said with her cold face "It will be done in 5 minutes I already gave it to the accountant!" I was even more furious and said " So Why didn't you said so when I tried to ask you when it will be done?" She said "You didn't tell me you need it quick, if so, I will do it. " ???? Is this acceptable in your opinion? Why would I kept asking when the process be finish if I didn't want it done soon? This girl made your ship staff fall from 5-3 stars, but I felt bad for the rest of good staff I changed it to 4 stars. Tea and Polina were great and helpful and I wrote her a great reviews. Iveta? You better think what to do with her. She shouldn't be on guest relation.
