Review summary

We had an amazing time. Plenty to do on the ship, and the excursions were all fantastic. Look forward to going again.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Had to go through Canadian and US Customs before boarding. The lines were long but they moved pretty quick.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food at the buffet was very good, large selections, well prepared. First couple of days in the MDR I was not impressed so we did not go back for dinner until the last night. On the last night the food was amazing. Went to La Petite Chef - Fanatastic presentation and food. Highly recommend the La Petite Chef.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Fitness center is a little small but very good. Most of the daily activities centered around the Grand Foyer and the Entertainment Court, both of which were very small and had very little seating (about 20 chairs/couches). The Captain's Club events were very good.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The live bands were very good. The production shows in the main theater were excellent. Jeremy Tan (magician, mind reader, card professional) was AMAZING. Enjoyed the talks about Alaska, very informative.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Maricar (waitress) in Cafe al Bacio went above and beyond, and always addressed me by name when she walked up to where I was seated. The waiters in the MDR were excellent.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship is very well laid out. Staff were constantly cleaning.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Had an unobstructed veranda cabin on the 7th floor (7291). The cabin was very nice, with a large balcony. The bed was very comfortable. Loved the shower it was a glass enclosure instead of a curtain.

Ship tip

Don't go in with a lot of expectations, just relax and enjoy yourself.

Ports of call

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

4 out of 5
Beautiful scenery.

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
Again, nice port with a lot to do. Rain capital of the world so be ready (they measure rain in feet, not inches). We did the Wilderness Excursion and Crab Feast. Well worth the money. Did not have time to go to Creek Street after the excursion, so we will need to take another trip.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

4 out of 5
Didn't get to see much of the area, our excursion took most of the port time. Had time to walk through the shops when we got back from whale watching, but nothing else.

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
Nice port with a lot to see and do. Expect rain as it is part of the rain forest. We did the dog sled and musher camp. Must see if you are an animal lover.

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

4 out of 5
Beautiful city with a lot to do. I will probably plan a trip just to see the rest of the city.

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

4 out of 5
Breathtaking. Photos do not do it justice.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarking went very smooth. A lot of long lines for customs, but they moved quickly.
