Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main Dinning room had excellent service, food overall was good, steaks were very thin so that brought it down from 5 stars along with I had asked for a table of 6, we were put at a table of 10 with the other couples much older then us, that was the only disappointing part of the cruise. Buffet was good from breakfast, lunch. Dinner was not appealing, went to the main dinning room. Coffee in the buffet had challenges, a lot of coffee grounds in each cup of coffee. Positives in the buffet, great service, supervisors in the buffet were on top of things, impressive service.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Kate, the Cruise Director, was full of energy, we loved to hear from her at the shows and at activities. We went to many of the activities, from morning warmup to Deal or no Deal, ABBA sing along, all well done.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Stage shows, magic and comedian all 5 stars, excellent. Great mix of entertainment! The bands in the grand foyer, not that good. I am open to all types of music but most of the bands were boring, some sounded like they were a bad wedding band. We stopped going after the first few days, new bands needed.

Children's Programs

No kids with us

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was well managed and excellent, our room steward worked her butt off, well done. All servers were excellent, especially in the buffet, it is a madhouse at breakfast and the staff was all over getting empty plates, cleaning dirty tables. Main dinning room was excellent.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Overall seemed clean, design was excellent.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I was happy with the layout, plenty of room for two people, bathroom was much larger then our first cruise 20 years ago with an interior room. We loved the balcony, only way would cruise in the future.

Ship tip

Make sure to confirm table size for dinner with your travel agent plus onsite. That was the only disappointing part of our cruise.

We spent a few days before the cruise in Vancouver, great time.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

4 out of 5
It was nice off the ship, just for the cruise guests, we walked to Hoonah, about 35 minutes, it was not worth it.

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

Highlight of the trip, beautiful day out and the captain was able to get within 1/4 mile of it. Awesome!

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
No excursions but enjoyed the city.

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
Nice but as usual there, it was raining. All the shops were similar to Juneau. Nothing special but enjoyed visiting.

Disembarkation

A+. We were first group out, luggage all set to go, taxi took us right out!
