Excellent cruise - just right amount of sea day and port days.

Review summary

Loved this itinerary much better than the 1st April one as we had a few more sea days so we could catch our breath and chill out. Crew were wonderful. Thank you Celebrity!

Embarkation

Second part of B2B, quick and speedy!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Ensemble Bar and World Class Bar were excellent. We cancelled all of our speciality dining as we found that the food was terrific in Luminae - even though the menu was the same as the week before. And, we decided we could not do the meals justice and would not get value for money. We did use Sushi on 5 though as we love the food here and knew we could pick and choose.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Did nothing again.

Entertainment

Did not see any shows but the general entertainment around the ship as great.

Children's Programs

No children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our butler went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our cruise. We asked for a couple of glasses of champagne to enjoy our sailaway from our aft cabin and she turned up with a plate of savouries, and a bottle of champagne! If we had an issue with anything, it was quickly fixed.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Solstice is an older ship but we found her to be much better maintained than the newer Eclipse.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Excellent - new patio furniture. Only negative on this cruise as far as this was the people above us were early risers and moved their patio furniture around and didn't realise it created noise in our cabin.

Ship tip

It travelling in a suite, make sure you get to know before you go exactly what you are entitled to else you may miss out on some great things.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Loved our Land End tour. This port was fantastic and really enjoyed our experience here.

Mazatlan, Mexico

We did an excursion with the ship and getting on the tour buses was very badly handled. No one knew exactly where to go and there were several buses for this trip and many were filled to capacity whilst our bus was only half full. Did not enjoy this excursion as much as the other one and if we visited again, may stay on the ship or just go to the newer part of town where the high end hotels are.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
We just caught a shared bus ride into Puerto Vallarta and wandered around the place ourselves. It was beautiful. Loved it.

Disembarkation

No problems at all. We did do an excursion with the ship around Santa Monica and Beverly Hills as our plane departed late. Was a great experience.

Traveler Photos

Best part of this port - just did not have enough time here to have a meal. Our sailaway feast supplied by our butler. Loved these rocks. Excellent excursion. Relaxing lunch in Puerto Vallarta - felt completely safe here. Abundance of wildlife on this cruise....it was great.
