Review summary

We went on this cruise to escape Christmas, and to get away from the awful weather. It was a lovely break from all the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping etc. We had a lovely relaxing time, except for some of the other cruisers noisy children, but I guess we should have expected that! Not a bad way to spend Christmas at all!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
quick, efficient, friendly, organized

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We mostly ate in Blu, and the Oceanview Cafe. They were great!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We went to some of the seminars but mostly just wanted peace and quiet to read

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We liked all of them except for the magician

Children's Programs

no children, thank god!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the staff were friendly, welcoming, polite and always smiling.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Although this ship is clearly showing signs of age, she was always kept clean

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The bed is super comfortable, even my tall husband fits in it, and the size and organizational sufficient for our needs.

Ship tip

Make sure you arrive in your port city at last 2 days ahead, and that is to make room for flight disruptions, weather issues and the like. Because of the tings, we just barely made it on to the ship, which was stressful.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

We just got off and on the ship, no time to do anything else.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

3 out of 5
We did not plan an excursion, should have I guess. Just walked along the Malecon, and then went back to the ship.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
Love Cabo! Went on a whale watching tour, it was fantastic, saw lots of wales very close to our boat.

Ensenada, Mexico

4 out of 5
We went on an excursion up to the Calafia Valley to visit a couple of wineries. Had no idea there was a Mexican wine industry, so that was very interesting, and cool to see the different geography and topography inland.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Perfect! We walked off early right at 7:30 with our own suitcases, because we had to get to the airport. Much better than waiting to be called.
