Review summary

Overall it was a great cruise and a relaxing trip. Service was great but the food was disappointing and rooms under the buffet are noisy.

Embarkation

Incredibly quick and easy with a suite reservation.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
My husband prefers the buffet over the main dining rooms for the casual atmosphere and larger selection, so we mostly ate there. The food in the buffet was disappointing It was incredibly bland and tasteless. All the desserts tasted the same. Muffins at breakfast were dense and lacked flavor. My husband hates garlic bread but he had no problem with the buffet garlic bread because it had no garlic. Margaritas from the pool bar were also pretty bland. The Tuscan Grille was excellent, though. We wish we had booked two dinners there. We ate at Luminae once and had great burgers there.

LOVED the glass blowing! That was a great experience and very unique.

Ship Quality

Super bad decision to put suites right under the buffet.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The room itself was great, 5 stars. It was clean and comfortable with a great amount of space and storage. The location, however, was not so good. The room is right under the buffet. When they wheel carts full of plates to restock supplies, it sounds like an airplane taking off. Although it never woke me up, I did hear it at all times of the day and night, including when I was already awake at 3.30 AM. There is not much they can do, but changing the wheels on the carts for softer tires might damper the noise. I also did not like the extended overhang over the balcony. It obstructs the view of the sky.

Ship tip

If you like Italian food, book at least one night at the Tuscan Grille. And sign up for the glass blowing.

Interesting, we sailed in August on Solstice. We did not like the Tuscan grill and thought the buffet was excellent.
