I would recommend this cruise to anyone who wants to explore Alaska’s inside passage. Overall it was knowledgeable and insightful. We enjoyed the trip.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was easy and well organized.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Dining room staff was exceptional. Food was good, but not what we’re used to on a RCL cruise. They served a lot of duck and lamb, and of course salmon.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We didn’t do a lot on board. We played in the casino and spent time in the spa. They didn’t have a lot of the traditional activities
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The ship performers were good, not great. They brought in a Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons group who sang their songs. It was excellent. The theatre filled up and everyone was singing and dancing. It was really good. The broadway performance was very good, but the rock performance on day one was terrible.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All workers we encountered were exceptional.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It’s an older ship and requires an upgrade, but it was still good.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The room was very small and had considerably less storage space then RCL ships. Didn’t like the layout as well as RCL. Loved the location of the room (back of the ship).
Ship tip
Stay open minded to different things. It’s not the same as other cruise lines.
We took a whale watching excursion through the cruise line. It was a small group so it cost more but so worth it. The excursion was called Luxory whale watching. I would recommend it.
We took a ship excursion to see a combination gold mining and sled dog adventure. You pan for real gold that you get to keep. It’s just a couple of tiny, tiny specks. It was very difficult. The tour of the gold mining camp they put together was very long and boring. The sled dog demo and interaction, including puppies was great but too short.
Very simple process. Great porter that helped us with luggage. My husband is in a wheel chair and the cruise line was great to help him at every port and disembarkation.
