Review summary

The cruise was a great way to get snapshots but was very disappointed with length of time in ports and so many days at sea. The excursions were pretty poor my advice would be to do your own. The ship was clean. Food was great. Service in Ocean View and outside bars was slow.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food on ship was very good especially in Murano and Tuscan Grill. Main dining was better than expected. Ocean View reminded me of school dinner time - A mad rush and too many people however food was good

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The gym was very good but other activities were poor

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Shows were poor except the musical and acrobatics performed by the onboard team. I was surprised they didn’t do more on such a long cruise. The live musicians in the bars and on the pool deck were excellent.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Our personal dining room waiters were excellent and again in the Murano. However the rest of the ship we struggled to be served especially for drinks in Ocean View. We struggled to get our wine of choice and therefore not necessary to have the premium package as the wines mainly offered unless you asked were served from the classic package

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship is very clean. The furniture needed replacing in the sunset bar and on the balconies as looked very tired and same again in the ocean view cafe.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was clean and comfortable but balcony furniture was tired and some attention to paintwork was needed. Loved the view from this cabin as at the stern of ship.

Ship tip

Do t upgrade the drinks package and be aware you will be accosted by staff all the time trying to sell the fine dining restaurants

Tara, Thank you for the extra information. I’m going to be on the Soltice in November and one of our stops will be in Wellington. I’m looking for the best wineries to explore as well. So any help with names would be great.

I love Wellington. Take the cable car up to the botanic gardens, walk around the harbour, go up Cuba St for coffee. Go to TePapa. It's a shame you didn't like it because it's a really cool city.

Did you not look at your itinerary before you left? It tells you how many days you have at sea, and how long you are in each port. Nobodies fault but your own.
