Review summary

I doubt we would bother with Celebrity again. We have had a much better experience elsewhere

Entertainment

Some good/ some pretty ordinary. What was annoying was that while the 9pm theatre show was on they did not provide ANY alternate entertainment. So if you went to the 7 PM show or didn’t want to go to that show that night there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do between 9 PM and 10 PM. I raised the issue with guest services who advised me that it is company policy to not provide an alternate to the 9 PM show because they want the guests to go to the show that they have paid to put on. Doesn’t even make sense considering you could’ve already gone to the show that night why would you go again and they are giving guests no power of choice over activities they wish to attend. They are driving them down the company policy Road. Completely unacceptable

Service and Staff

Our room steward was fantastic and couldn’t do enough to help. However the bar/wait staff need lessons in customer service. One example: first day onboard sitting around the pool, trolling waiter asks us if we would like a drink. We replied “Thanks could we have 2 glasses of iced water please “ And his response was “There’s a self serve dispenser over there, you can get your own”. Many other similar examples over the course of the cruise which I will be addressing directly with Celebrity via their survey.

Ship Quality

Overall first impression is a beautiful sparkling new looking vessel but when you look closely a lot of the furniture is shabby and badly in need of replacement.

Ship tip

Be prepared to pay exorbitant prices for drinks - USD11 or more for a glass of wine. Unless you are someone who can afford to buy a drinks package and can then max it out to get your monies worth

Would possibly rate this port higher if we had done an excursion and got out of the city. Papeete itself was pretty ordinary and quite dirty
