Review summary

This was a fantastic cruise on a wonderful ship! We could not have been happier with our cabin and this terrific itinerary! Food in all venues was great. We ate in every specialty restaurant at least twice and our favorites were Tuscan Grille, Silk Harvest, Luminae, and Sushi on 5. Murano fell a bit short in our opinion. We especially enjoyed Michael's Club where Calli was among the most helpful folks on the ship and Maria among the best bartenders! I really enjoyed having a detox smoothie at least once each day from the crew in the Aqua Spa Cafe where Kimberling was a ray of sunshine each and every visit. Arif and his team in Luminae bent over backwards to ensure we were thrilled with each visit we made. Notable folks on his team include Bayu, Mustafa, Kavi, and Viktor, the sommelier. We loved all our ports of call, especially Moorea and Bora Bora. Tendering operations were quick and efficient. Two things I'd stay away from next time that cost us too much, in my opinion, are the Persian Garden Pass, simply not worth it, and the casino...you just could not win for some reason!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All venues were exceptional. Our favorites included Luminae, Tuscan Grille, and Silk Harvest. We experienced only a couple of service related hiccups which were quickly resolved. The Oceanview Cafe was delicious as well with a great variety of offerings. They sometimes ran out of popular items but were diligent in replacing them. Seating could be challenging during popular times and we usually resorted to going to the bar ourselves vs waiting for service.

Wonderful food with limited selection. Great smoothies!

Cafe al Bacio and Gelateria

I thought the dessert selections fell a bit short of my expectations...

Tuscan Grille

Great food and amazing staff! This was our favorite! Wonderful aft view if you arrive early!

Luminae

Great food and your wish is their command! Fantastic staff!

Passport Bar

Great staff and location!

Oceanview Cafe and Bar

I don't know how they do this so well! Bring your own cocktails as the service is slower in peak times.

Murano Restaurant

4 out of 5

Good food and great service.

Michael's Club

5 out of 5

One of our favorite venues on the ship!

Champagne Bar

4 out of 5

A little overrated with less than enthusiastic staff...

Cellar Masters

5 out of 5

Great selection of wines and friendly, professional staff!

Bistro on Five

5 out of 5

Great food and staff!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Somewhat limited during the day. Notable exceptions include the large and well-equipped fitness center (though I might recommend they make it available 24 hrs a day.)

Pool

5 out of 5

Pool butlers are good about removing folks who simply lay their claim on chairs and then leave for hours. You need to stay on the servers if you want drinks on a regular basis. Pools and hot tubs were always clean. I wish they would have music earlier, however. Often it wouldn't start until noon and we were usually out by pools by 8am.

Fitness Center

Great selection and volume of equipment! Wonderful view! Well maintained! Should be open 24 hours...

Shops on the Boulevard

2 out of 5

Nice selection but we had trouble with customs upon debarkation. Staff doesn't mention that your purchases are reported and many folks had issues prior to debarkation.

Jogging Track

5 out of 5

Glad to have had it as an option. Go early because it is tough to navigate later in the day. I found that it was not slick even when wet...

Fortune's Casino

Don't waste your time or money! Not even an enjoyable experience!

The Spa

Shalini was fantastic!

Persian Garden

Fell short on most measures. We had to pay extra for it as we weren't in Aqua Class cabin. We had a great experience on a previous cruise but this time it didn't measure up. Steam room rarely produced steam, literally only had steam on 2 occasions out of 10 that I visited. Warm beds are nice and the view is fantastic, but not worth the extra charge.

Celebrity Central

Very limited selection of movies for a 19 night cruise...

Ensemble Lounge

Loved it and went often!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Overall, the staff was excellent. We were a bit disappointed with the butler for our suite...we really didn't feel as though we received an additional benefit to non-suite guests. Service personnel in Luminae could not do enough for us! They were terrific!!

We will be cabin 2146 on our Alaskan cruise. First time in suite class, usually do Aqua class. I’m a little apprehensive that this will be no different than Aqua class but at an higher price
