Review summary

Fantastic ship - everything was first class from staff to fine dining in the Speciality Restaurants. Due to feeling motion sickness however, I think cruising is not for me

Buffet restaurant was very busy and felt overwhelmed on occasions Preferred our select dining - food and service was excellent Tuscan Grill and Murano were both outstanding. Food and service was first class.

Murano Restaurant

Had lunch and were definitely impressed. Scallops and lobster were amazing as was the risotto starter and filet mignon steak. Staff were very professional but friendly. Highly recommend for a first class experience

Fantastic steak on both nights we ate here.Staff very professional but friendly. Food was outstanding and the quality of the meals were excellent.Highly recommend eating here when on this ship.

Excellent coffee bar - staff were always polite and friendly.Cake selection was very impressive and the mini tarts/eclairs were always fresh and tasty.Best coffee served here too

Breakfast was always a relaxed and comfortable experienceGood choice of items - eggs Benedict were a favourite as was the scrambled eggs/bacon/toast. Pastries were delicious and waiting on staff very attentive

Oceanview Café and Bar

Always felt a bit busy and overwhelming.Too much choice hence so many people milling about.Food quality was always good - loved the salad bar and afternoon tea items. However, for a relaxed meal I preferred to be waited on.

Our room attendant was excellent. He was very attentive and conscious in his work. Staff in dining rooms, bars were all very friendly and polite particularly in the Coffee Bar

Ship Quality

Excellent cleanliness in all areas Design of the ship was very good but think the coffee shop area could be bigger as always a lot of people waiting for a table same as the Oceanview Cafe - not enough seats/tables for amount of passengers

Cabin / Stateroom

Our room 8236 was very spacious. Plenty of wardrobe space for 2 people. Bathroom was bigger than expected and everything was always clean and tidy on our return from a day at port

Ship tip

Cabin 8236 was a good central cabin. Close to lifts and The Hideaway which had coffee facilities. If wanting to eat at the Oceanview Cafe either go early or later on as can be very busy. Preferred the Main Dining Room or Speciality Restaurants for evening meals

Disembarkation

Very easy and straight forward - our allocated time to disembark was 7.35am but we were in our car leaving the car park by then. Very organised and helpful staff

Maybe try sea sickness prevention medicines? I wouldn’t give up cruising if you enjoyed it! Great review

I enjoyed reading your review as we’re going on the Silhouette in December. Is the ship looking ‘tired’ as I know it’s going in for a refit early next year?
