Review summary

This was our first cruise and I am afraid it may really overshadow any others we may take. Celebrity really did it right. The Silhouette was a really nice ship that was clean and had great staff.

Embarkation

Very fast. No delays and walked through. Concierge class was a benefit.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dining room was very good. The staff was extremely helpful. Murano served the best meal that I have had in a long time. Well worth it.

Murano Restaurant

Shakeel was the waiter. He was incredible and prepared almost everything tableside. The food was exceptional and was the best dining experience of the trip.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools were nice, but super crowded. The inside pool was a better option if you were looking for a place to chill. The fitness center was very clean and had a lot of options.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
This is subjective, so most of the entertainment was good. Some was better than others.

Children's Programs

I did not have children with me on this trip and did not participate in any children programs.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Definitely a highlight of the trip. Budi, Vilhm and Carmen were great in the dining room. Margaret was very attentive and friendly in the bar. Overall, I can't imagine a better experience with the staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This was a polished ship! It was always clean and the steward kept the room pristine. Dave was our steward and did a great job.

Cabin / Stateroom

Dave was a great steward and kept the room clean.

Ship tip

Take advantage of the drink package. It really brings value to your trip.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Didn't really do any more than get on and off the ship at this port.

Key West, Florida

I enjoyed the trolley ride through the town. We did some shopping and came back to the ship in plenty of time.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

A little dirty, but the people were nice. Everyone wanted to sell you something or get you on their beach area. We paid $10 per couple to reserve a spot that we found out later we didn't need to do. There was a ton of seaweed on the beach, which was pretty nasty. $20/hour massage that I was going to do on the next stop. Did not find that pricing again.

Cozumel, Mexico

Has a really good time snorkeling. There were a lot of fish and I found a couple of conch shells. You can't keep anything, but it was neat to look at. The beach area was really rocky due to the coral.

George Town, Grand Cayman

This was an incredible beach. The sand was like sugar. 7 mile beach was incredible. You better bring your billfold on this one. They are proud of all they have. Expensive. They want money for the chairs you sit in, the umbrella that you use and even a couple of dollars for entry to the beach, which I think you can avoid if you enter in an area away from the main spots. Beers were $9 each.

Disembarkation

We took our luggage with us and again we just walked right through without delays.
