Amazing Getaway by Rahtif

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We booked a cruise on the Reflection because we wanted a quiet week away and with just over 3000 guest capacity, it was much more palatable than the larger ships that are carrying over 6000.  We honestly didn't want to travel with a huge mall, ice rink, rock climbing wall or wave generator, which would be great if thats what you're looking for to keep occupied, but wasn't what we wanted.

From the moment we stepped onboard, it was an amazing voyage.  We were able to get onboard early and went directly up to "The Porch" to sit and relax before casting off.  This restaurant is on Deck 15, with an amazing view of the port and situated next to the extensive grass area.  Great lunch, as expected.  It didn't take long to get our luggage and start getting things put away.  We booked an AquaClass suite, and it was amazing.  Lots of room in the cabin with a beautiful verandah that we relaxed on for a while the first day.

While exploring the ship, we were constantly amazed at the amount of artwork that adorns the hallways, staircases, elevator areas, restaurants... everywhere you turn there are photographs, sculptures and original paintings.  The main area of the ship is stunning with its glass elevators and live tree sitting center stage!

We dined in Blu a number of times and we were never disappointed, looking forward to the next meal every time.  We also dined in a number of specialty restaraunts, and if you get to the Tuscan Grille, DO NOT pass up the Creme Brulee, topped with PopRock candy.. simply amazing.  One of the reasons we continue to cruise on Celebrity is the food, it is simply the best anywhere.  The attention to detail, consistancy of quality and service are second to none.

One night while at sea, we decided to go up to the Sky Lounge, which has an amazing view from the front of the ship, for a drink and relax, we figured that with the number of people on the ship and it was Spring Break weekend that it would be a little crowded.  Imagine our surprise when we were the only ones there, other than the bartender.  We even asked if the bar was closed and the bartender replied, "No, it's pretty quiet in here usually unless we're having karaoke, since there are so many other places on the ship to hang out."  Wow, they wern't kidding.  On a ship of 3000 people, there were only 3 of us in this place and couldn't believe it!  We found the quiet and solitude we were looking for.

As we booked in an AquaClass suite, we were able to use the Persian Garden Spa as frequently as we wanted, which was beautiful and relaxing with the heated tile chairs, infrared sauna, hammam sauna and cold room.  The only downfall was the set up for access to the Persian Gardens.  We had to wait in line for 15 minutes at the reception desk to exchange our cabin key card for an access key to the Gardens while others were trying to decide on spa appointments, nail color, salon times and other things.  One of the benefits (supposedly) to the AquaClass was the unlimited use of the Persian Gardens, but after having to wait for the exchange and then the exchange for our cabin key, we probably won't be booking this class again. We had the opportunity to speak with Jamie (hotel manager) and spoke to him about the delay and he assured that this would be addressed.  We also did receive a call from the Spa Manager to try it again as they had set up a line specifically for the key exchange, but we honestly were too busy explorting the ship and enjoying the cabin and verandah that we didn't feel the need to go back.

Overall, the ship, crew, restaurants and general experience was amazing, as always on the Celebrity line, which is why I gave this review 5 stars. We can't wait to cruise again on the Reflection, but have opted for a different suite class and have already booked our next one in 2015.

words are simply not enough .......

if a picture paints a thousand words, I'll just have to pass on the text. You will NOT be disappointed ..... especially if you do your own excursions - that we did by following the excellent Rick Steves guide book.

Great and Classy by CaptainCook01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

First experience on Celebrity Cruises and they were very nice and classy.Good foods in the Buffett and even have a pasta bar to have them make fresh pasta and pick out toppings.Service was very hands on and nice while on vacation. The women seemed to dress up a lot more on Celebrity but not suit and ties for this cruise.During the day it's very casual ,not a ton of entertainment as it's more for a older crowd but plenty of nice bars and things to keep you busy.Celebrity has a very strong fan base and I see why.Treat you like a Celebrity!

Great vacation by stephcollette18

Even though we were some of the youngest on the ship, we will definitely consider Celebrity again. We loved the more laid-back vibe and less kids. The food and staff were absolutely amazing. The ship was beautiful and clean.

Celebrity will always be our cruise line. We will never sail anything else. They are consistently above and beyond our expectations. We always enjoy every day on a Celebrity ship! Food and accommodations are always great, but the service cannot be matched. #1 service on the seas.

First time on Celebrity, but not the last. by spotteddolphin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Caribbean

Overall, I give this cruise a 9.5. Not much selection change in main dining hall each evening. Found myself having the same stuff nearly every night. Hard time understanding waiter, due to accent. All staff wonderful and helpful. Entire ship kept clean and tidy. Shows and bands were very good. Lack of shops and items available onboard. Our balcony room was lovely. Would choose Celebrity again.

Third leg of a three parter (see post for Feb 28th leg for all details) by noname111

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Context: My husband and I just completed 3 B2Bs on the Celebrity Reflection starting February 28 to Mar 7 and continuing Mar 7-14 & 14-21. The review posted for the February 28th leg of our trip contains details for all three. Accommodation basics: 2 weeks in Aqua Class stateroom (1553 & 1555), 1 week in Aqua Class suite (2154). Primary point is that we loved our experience with Celebrity, so much so that we booked four more cruises for 2017. That says a lot about how much we enjoyed ourselves.  (continued in "Reflecting on the Reflection" post.)

Almost perfect by phmokda

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I have been on many ships and cruise lines before. Without a doubt this was the most beautiful, steady, and comfortable ship I have ever taken. Although seas were mostly calm, there were days of 15-25 knot winds and the boat was remarkably stable. The talent during the shows were superb. The speciality restaurants likewise were great. Only have two complaints. I have sleep apnea, (as do millions of other citizens), and use a C-PAP machine at night. There are NO bedside plugs in the staterooms for unclear reasons. A heavy duty long extension cord was provided but really? The potential for tripping and injury is high. Not sure what the designer(s) were thinking here. The food in main dining room was mediocre at best. The Oceanside Cafe food in fact was often better. My only thought was maybe they were intentionally trying to drive passengers to the speciality restaurants. Finally the service was stellar. Would definitely go again.

First Timer Cruise by BnB2cruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection

We planned our cruise with the intention that the ship was our destination and Celebrity Reflection did not disappoint in any way. As an added bonus we visited Cartenga Columbia, Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire as well as Grand Cayman, we are not beach people nor do we enjoy excursions so I can't comment on those activities but we do shop and enjoy having a cocktail at each port. This was our first cruise and we have 2 more booked with Celebrity. We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise, we met some great people and experienced amazing staff.

Top Notch Cruise of the Western Med by Cruiser34176695

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

A wonderful 11-night cruise from embarkation to disembarkation. Excellent staff, very nice concierge cabin, outstanding meals in all venues. Couldn't have picked a better ship and itinerary at an excellent price. Our Dream Vacations agent, Susan Pretkus-Combs was a joy to work with! Not only did she secure a great price but also some special amenities. Much appreciated.

Great cruise, great experience & best ship ,! by richardandbetty

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was our first Celebrity but it will not be the last. We are in our 70:s so don’t need the Zip Lines, Rock Climbing Walls or Bumper Cars. The Reflection was great for us & we met so many other couples like ourselves.

Celebrity Cruising by mpdea

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Celebrity is undoubtedly a premium Cruise Line and we have done several trips with them, ship is very clean shows wonderful food excellent staff attentive

it it seems though that they are cutting back and as we chose Aqua Class we found it to be below what we have experienced before, choice on menu cut, choice of wines cut and staff a little short.

We had Aqua Class room 1544 nice room wrong side of the ship for all day sun

All in all a great trip but just a little short of Premium
