14 days is the right amount of time for a cruise. 7 days 10 days are just not enough time for the hassle you go through just getting on and off the ship and getting situated.

Ship tip
Hectic day of departure and debarkation. Requires patience.
Traveled about 1 hour 20 minutes for whitewater excursion which was fun. Local port area, however, is a total dump! Don't waste time getting off ship for this port.
You have to take an $8 cab to downtown to see all the jewelry stores. Watch out!!!! 99% percent of these stores sell fake stuff (fake stones, fake silver-plated stuff). Listen to shopping director on ship for the very few stores that sell the real stuff.
