Review summary

While the ship was nice it was let down by an overwhelmed crew ... the cruise was fully booked and staff did not seem to cope well. We chose this ship for the islands we wanted to visit. Will stick with Royal Caribbean in future I think!

Embarkation

Easy, hassle free and relatively quick.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was delicious but we werre not happy to have paid extra for anytime/select dining only to be unable to dine when we chose. We were on a different table most nights with different staff. Some nights we could only dine at 8.45pm/9pm when we had planned on 7pm. This meant we missed both show times at 7.15pm and 9.15pm if we ate in the dning room. Some staff were good, one or 2 spectacular, but most were not really interested. The outdoor buffet was good regards food quality and quantity, but again the staff in general were not overly helpful. It seemed to us that the whole ship was understaffed and overwhelmed by the numbers of guests on board and were really struggling.

Onboard Activities

Realy wanted to see some of the shows but unable to do so as dining times were useless.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Usually when we cruise we find the staff outstanding and struggle to decide who should have an extra tip from us. On this cruise, we struggled to find 2 people we wanted to tip. Our room steward and one waiter were the sole recipients. While the ship was relatively new (5 years old) the staff were tired......

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship design and cleanliness were not an issue for us.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We chose Concierge Class expecting the same level as Royal Caribbean. Unfortunately we did not have a suite ... just a statesroom with balcony and certainly not the same level of service as we have experienced on Royal Caribbean. Compact room with a balcony and as we were only at sea for 2 days it was okay. Any more time than that and we would have been struggling.

Ship tip

Check your level of service and book a higher level!!!!

Loved this port and town. Once again we enjoyed our pre booked tour. We were on the first tender and the first on the donkeys which we rode up the walkway. Cable car on return had queues that were too long and we did not want to use the donkeys again so we walked down.
