Review summary

While we enjoyed our recent AK Land/Cruise Pkg Fairbanks to Vancouver BC, regretfully we experienced too many QIO/Quality Improvement Opportunities due to poor communications and inadequate/short staffing! This is to the extent of intended correspondence to CEO. The Land Pkg in particular fell far short of our desires & expectations.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
While the Buffet options were tasty, they were essentially unchanged ALL week. staffing shortages CLEARLY EVIDENT in the Opportunities for LONG, Un-Interrupted conversation opportunities between courses at meals! No variety in weeks dessert menu – which according to fellow cruisers was NOT their past experiences.

Entertainment

Celia Garland's Beyond the Podium Presentations were TOP KNOTCH & the Highlight of our cruise!! She was so informative & entertaining! EXCELLENT!! The other evening performances while enjoyable were not exceptional.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
While Celebrity advertisements state they are back to 'Normal" they are NOT. They remain short staffed & it reflexes on the service & cleanliness. Many Opportunities for LONG, Un-Interrupted conversation opportunities between courses at meals!

Ports of call

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

5 out of 5
Captain Pierre was able to do two complete 360-degree ship turns getting unusually close to the Glacier as there were no or manageable risk of floating icebergs!! This was another TOP Cruise Experience!! Excellent! Incredible!!

Skagway, Alaska

3 out of 5
Disappointed that the White Pass Railroad & Yukon Suspension Bridge was cancelled! Others took bus trip into Canada!!! The alternate, White Pass Railway and Skagway Highlights Train up and back was nice, but pricey for the experience!!

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

3 out of 5
REFRESHING as NO Jewelry Stores, No Gold, Diamond & Opal Tourist Traps!! Disappointed that the community MAP did NOT include the walk to the ferry terminal or the actual town! Didn’t discover early enough to walk the RT 3 mi into town. Beautiful WALK to the ferry & back. Saw Seals romping in the waves!!

Ketchikan, Alaska

The trolley tour out to the Saxman Village was interesting but the driver did NOT include HISTORIC Ketchikan in the tour. It was advertised as 1.5 hours - was just over 1 hour. Walked along the Creek Street on our own, up to salmon ladder, Married Man's Trail, etc.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

Disembarked & walked around this pretty point on our own. Ship had no commentary.

Disembarkation

Once Arrive Canada was successfully completed, we scanned our cabin card upon disembarking and handed our custom forms in and were done. We were in Canada. Smooth.
